Food for Thought...

This reflection is a response to the announcement last Sunday. . .

After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005, St. Francis quickly developed a relationship with a partner parish there.  St. Anna’s Episcopal Church in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans became the community through which we saw the impact of the hurricane, the embodiment of human suffering, and the connection and inspiration to help with the clean up and rebuild.  Soon after the flood waters receded, a small group from St. Francis traveled to New Orleans to begin the clean up and to assess with members of St. Anna’s what needed to be done and how best to help.  Days were long and work was never done.  To read more, click here . . .
