Playing Chess: The Last Supper, John 13: 1-30

Defining Moments: At the Last Supper, Jesus sets the stage for His ultimate sacrifice, offering Himself as the new covenant. He washes His disciples' feet, demonstrating that true power lies in humble service. This deliberate moment shows Jesus’ deliberate path toward the cross, fully aware and fully in control.

Good News Statement: Jesus washes feet in humble service so that we may understand true leadership and love.

A meeting of the UMCG Men's Club will be held at the end of March to begin planning for the 2025 Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast and the UMCG Booth for the 2025 Swedish Days Festival.

This Men's Club meeting will be held on Saturday, 03/29/25, at 10:00 am, in the church's Parlor room. 

The newly-revised scholarship program and applications forms are available. There are two applications this year -- one for high school seniors and one for current college students. Don't forget to apply!

We were proud to show our support at the CASA gala last weekend--

the group who attended to represent UMCG had a great time!

A group from UMCG (along with AFS) volunteered at the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Our assignment was to pack “backpacks” so kids in the community could have meal security over the weekends. We set up an assembly line—one person opened bags, another placed an item in, another packed the boxes. In just three hours, we packed 13,870 pounds of food, providing 11,558 meals!

Adult Sunday School meets in the Parlor each Sunday at 10:30am. The book “The Final Days-A Lenten Journey through the Gospels” is available through Amazon and other locations.
