Friends of the Seminary:
In mid-December, the Presidential Search Committee began its work to identify the next president of Louisville Seminary. A Presidential Search page has been developed to share important information, including a report following each of our meetings. I encourage you to visit the webpage often in order to stay in touch with the process.
The seminary retained AGB Search and consultants Loren Anderson and Shannon McCambridge to assist us in our search. Their expertise has already been invaluable.
A recent news release describes both the task and the tenor of the next president:
"The next President of LPTS will be called to lead a Seminary community that understands the changing landscape of theological education, that stands ready and resolved to address these changes as both challenge and opportunity, and that is energized to work “toward a world where all can flourish.” Sharpening the Seminary’s mission and future vision, setting the academic direction for the future, growing enrollment, working toward financial sustainability, and advancing the WHOSOEVER are key goals that will frame the President’s leadership agenda."
"LPTS seeks a seasoned and successful leader who is committed to the Seminary’s Presbyterian and reformed agenda, understands 21st-century religious life and theological education, and is both an innovative thinker and an effective manager. Valued personal characteristics include an uncompromising work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, a pastoral presence, intercultural competence, and a collaborative leadership style."
If you have a potential candidate to recommend, you will find the process for submitting recommendations on the Presidential search page. As always, we ask for your prayers as we begin this process leading to that person who will joyfully and intentionally join us in our WHOSOEVER journey.
