Releases New Report

Making the Case for Increased Investment in Cybersecurity: A Primer for K12 School Districts Just Getting Started with Cybersecurity is explicitly designed to support school and district leaders.

It identifies five actions school system IT staff might take now or in the near future to better defend IT infrastructure and addresses why it’s more important than ever to protect students and teachers from cyberattacks.

Cybersecurity mitigation often lacks the funding needed to provide a strong defense against rising threats in the current environment. This report addresses these risks for K-12 schools, as well as effective strategies to protect against them, especially for those just getting started. According to the report, school system IT staff can better defend IT infrastructure by:

  1. Training IT staff and end users
  2. Adding technical expertise to your IT team
  3. Securing the network
  4. Creating a sustainable plan to replace equipment at regular intervals
  5. Creating an environment of certainty for the IT function with leadership buy-in and reliable funding

More about HELPme powered by STOPit Solutions . . .

Now more than ever, school communities need a comprehensive safety and wellness program that includes a pathway to anonymously connect with assigned helpers i.e. (family engagement coordinators, school counselors, social workers, school nurses, and others).

HELPme is designed to meet the needs of the school community by providing access and linkages to resources for basic needs, mental health, and family resilience while ensuring the privacy and dignity all people deserve.

The HELPme platform by STOPit Solutions trains all school users on the importance of asking for help, the recognition of asking for help as a critical life skill, and a safe way to practice asking for and receiving help from one’s first interaction with the school.

Over the past five years, we have managed 19 ESA/ESC state-rollout programs with solutions to help protect more than 2,600 schools and 950,000 students and staff.
