Techno Rescue becomes Certified to Gold Standard for Electronics Recycling
Achieves e-Stewards Certification in Maryland
Frederick, MD. February 22, 2023. Techno Rescue, an electronic waste recycler with locations near Washington, DC and Aurora, Colorado, has achieved e-Stewards® certification at its new facility in Maryland, and now holds the distinction of being the only e-Stewards company based in the state. Operating since 2006, Techno Rescue is a Veteran-Owned company that specializes in IT Asset Disposition, Secured Data Destruction, e-Waste Recycling and Data Center Services.

“Techno Rescue is excited and very proud to become an e-Stewards certified company,” says Nidal Allis, President & CEO of Techno Rescue. “We are committed to honoring our values by holding and living up to the highest standards of protecting the environment and securing our clients’ data. As an e-Stewards certified company in the Washington DC area, we are very excited about our future and honored to be part of the supportive e-Stewards community.”

With its location in the Washington DC metro area, Techno Rescue has given itself a distinct advantage over other electronics recyclers. In November 2021, the Council of the District of Columbia altered the terms of their eCYCLE DC extended producer responsibility take-back program to only allow e-Stewards Certified Recyclers and Refurbishers as valid registered processors of electronic waste. The e-Stewards Certification requires the highest standards for ethical and responsible processing, including the refurbishing of used electronic equipment, mandatory data sanitization via the NAID AAA data destruction standard as well as assurance that hazardous fractions are not exported to developing countries.

“As an e-Stewards recycler, Techno Rescue now adheres to the highest standard for safe and secure handling of data and hardware,” said Selena Turnock, Acting e-Stewards Certification Director. “We welcome them to our community and look forward to our continued growth together.”
