Major renovations to begin at
H. Spurgeon Cherry Pool!
The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places program in conjunction with the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department are pleased to announce a major renovation of the 50-year old building and pool. Located at 1001 NW 31 Dr. at Albert "Ray" Massey (Westside) Park, construction is set to begin in January 2022 with completion expected in the summer of 2022.
Improvements include:
·        Replacement of pool liner and water recirculating system
·        Modifications to the building entry including a new canopy
·        New roofing system
·        New showers, restroom fixtures, lockers, benches, interior finishes and light fixtures
·        New mechanical (HVAC) systems
·        Electrical upgrades
·        Office, storage and staff space improvements
·        Parking lot reconstruction
