California Increases Disclosure Required for Charitable Giving

California’s Fair Political Practices Commission has increased disclosure regulations relating to charitable donations made at the request of elected officials – a practice known as “behested payments.”
City of Cincinnati, Ohio Passes Ban on Developer Donations in Wake of Past Corruption Concerns
The Cincinnati City Council approved a new pay-to-play ordinance prohibiting campaign committees and affiliated PACs from soliciting or accepting political contributions of any amount from “financially interested persons” with certain types of business matters before the city.
California Committee Annual Fee
An annual fee on all active state and local campaign committees in California is due no later than January 15, 2022, if the committees will continue to exist in 2022.
