Beware of "Grandparent Scams"

In the post-COVID era, scammers have doubled down on their efforts to prey on the elderly...specifically grandparents.

Most all of these scams involve phone calls from "loved ones" asking for immediate help.

Direct Deposit for Tax Returns, What You Need to Know!
  • Now, more than ever, you need a reliable, fast, secure, contact-less way to receive your money. The best and fastest way to get your tax refund is to have it electronically deposited for free into your financial account. The IRS program is called direct deposit.

Direct deposit is easy to use. Just select it as your refund method through your tax software and type in the account number and routing number. Or, tell your tax preparer you want direct deposit. You can even use direct deposit if you are one of the few people still filing by paper. Be sure to double check your entry to avoid errors.

You’ll need two important numbers to have your return direct deposited. LPCCU’s routing number, 2724-82375 and your 5 digit account number, then you choose savings or checking. If you need further assistance, contact us at 313 389-2300.
Our Dormant Accounts Have Changed!
Any account which has gone 180 days without a deposit or withdrawal is flagged as Inactive or Dormant. If it remains Dormant for 1 year, a $5 per month fee will be charged until it is active again.

To avoid the $5 monthly fee – do a financial transaction – deposit or withdrawal at least once a year. Mobile and/or home banking are available to keep track of and manager your account.
