The Pioneer Express
Veterans Day Special Edition
Oak Ridge High School
Friday, November 11, 2022
ORHS Community Member,

Even though we do not have school today due to the tropical storm, it is still a very important day across America — Veterans Day. In this special issue of The Pioneer Express, we recognize those members of our Oak Ridge family that have worn the uniform. This includes both teachers and staff as well as members of their families. We are especially proud of our teacher and staff veterans because they have stepped up for our country twice in their professional careers: once in defense of the many liberties we all enjoy and then again to help educate our nation's most prized assets, our children. Therefore, should you happen to see any of of these members of our faculty or support staff next week, kindly take a moment to say thank you. It would mean a lot as either they personally or someone in their family served to protect the United States.

I hope this finds you having weathered the storm okay and that we will see classes resume on Monday morning as usual (ocps.net has the latest community updates). This coming week is #15 of 36 school weeks for the year and is the last week before Thanksgiving break (Nov. 21-25). I trust all of our Pioneers will maximize the few remaining instructional days we have left in 2022.

In Pioneer Pride,

Mr. Alvarado
