Green Creek Hounds will be hosting
"Goodnight Ladies"
at the Tryon Theater
Monday, September 26th, 2022
at 6:30 PM.
"Goodnight Ladies" is about Mrs. John B. Hannum III, MFH of Cheshire Foxhounds, and the second longest tenured MFH in the Masters of Foxhounds Association history. The movie will be followed by a Question & Answer period from her grand-daughter and movie producer, Christi Hannum. Mrs. John B. Hannum's legacy is the land she helped create and conserve for foxhunting, the traditions she protected, and the hunt that still lives today as one of America's best and strongest. This is a great opportunity for foxhunters to come together and learn from our history. I grew up hunting with Mrs. Hannum. She taught me to love hunting. Everyone is invited - Seating is limited. After the movie, there will be a reception at the historic Lake Lanier Tea House.
On Tuesday, September 27th, Green Creek Hounds is waiving Cap Fees, and inviting all those that attended the movie, to go hunting with us in our country. This is a "special" hunt, as we hunt on Thursday and Sunday.
Tickets are being sold on-line, in advance.

Meet and read to some of our rescued miniature horses at Red Bell Run on Saturday, September 3rd from 1:30-3:00pm. Students K-5th grade are invited to bring their favorite books or choose from our library and read to our miniature horses. Registered participants read for 20-30 minutes, followed by a monitored hands-on experience with the equines and a fun game or craft in our beautiful new pavilion. Daphne is our featured rescue for the Fall 2022 series. Each child will receive a trading card showcasing one of Red Bell Run's rescued miniature horses and Read with Rescues T-shirt for the fall series. A parent or guardian is asked to remain on site while children are in attendance and must sign a liability waiver for their child. Children are required to wear close toed shoes or boots. Program is limited to 12 participants with advance registration required through Eventbrite (linked above). Participants will be under the supervision of our staff and volunteers who have strong backgrounds in education. This event is free, but donations are always welcomed and appreciated. More information may be obtained by calling the Red Bell Run office at 828-863-2017.

The Tryon Hounds is proud to present the Trip Hoffman Memorial Riding Scholarship for fox hunting enthusiasts in Polk, Henderson, Rutherford, Spartanburg, and Greenville counties for the 2022-2023 hunt season.

Fox hunting has been a part of the areas culture for nearly one-hundred years and enjoyed by equestrian enthusiasts who appreciate the sport and tradition. This scholarship helps ensure the sports place within the community for future generations by assisting with membership dues. Trip Hoffman was a Tryon resident and beloved riding member of the Tryon Hounds for decades. He also served on the Tryon Hounds Board of Directors and was the hunt club’s social committee chairman for many years.

"We are grateful to the Hoffman family for providing the seed money that helped to establish this fund”, said Bonnie Lingerfelt, Joint Master of the Tryon Hounds. "It is a wonderful way to honor Trip and support his love for the Tryon Hounds and the long-standing tradition of riding to hounds". For an application and eligibility requirements please visit https://tryonhounds.com/support/trip-hoffman-memorial-fund

Application deadline for 2022/2023 hunting season is September 14, 2022. The winning applicant(s) will be chosen by Tryon Hounds Masters, Huntsman and President of the Board of Directors. All donations to the fund are welcome and will be recognized on the Tryon Hounds website. Donations can be mailed to the Tryon Hounds c/o The Trip Hoffman Memorial Fund, PO Box 112, Tryon NC 28782.
