, Are you looking to get involved in the community?
|
It's not too late and we would love to help. We are here to connect you to an amazing array of opportunities. We provide transportation to almost every activity and you go with a group of students together. Students often tell us that getting involved in the community becomes one of the best highlights of the week.
If you have questions, we are here to help. Email service@jcu.edu or stop in to the Center for Service-Learning and Social Action any time. We are located in the Administration Building on the ground floor, Room AD-32.
Have a great week,
The CSSA Team

- Saturday, November 6 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
MedWish helps to re-purpose discarded medical supplies, and our volunteers help with this process. We collect tens of thousands of pounds of donated supplies each month and rely on volunteers to help us sort through these supplies, checking expiration dates and ensuring product viability. Sorting takes place through a number of different steps, and volunteers can expect to participate in all steps of the process (examples include sorting medical supplies into categories, matching similar items together, boxing, and labeling inventory). No medical experience is necessary!

Community Arts Center Clean-Up
- Sunday, November 14 | 12:45 pm - 3:15 pm
The Community Arts Center at Disciples Christian Church welcomes volunteers to help with yard-work, cleaning, and special projects which might include setting up for events, moving items out of the building as we make room for arts organizations, helping with the food center in our building, or more specialized projects based on volunteer’s interests and the Center’s needs. DCC has dedicated our building, free of charge, to help make the arts more accessible for youth and families in our community in partnership with area art organizations.
