"Tell of all His Wondrous Deeds"

[5 minute read]

Hello EMCC,

I'm so excited to share this report of what God is doing in Nepal! But first, let's return to some of this week's key passage of 1 Chronicles 16:

"Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name;

make known His deeds among the peoples!

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;

tell of all His wondrous works!" (verses 8-9).

We want to declare God's wonderful work being done through our sister denomination in Nepal. Last year, we participated together in the Pentecost Offering and were so pleased by the collective support and investment you demonstrated. One of the recipients of that offering was SARA Children's Home in Nepal. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide a full year of care for the kids you'll read about below. They're doing well in academics, receiving great healthcare, learning from God's Word and sharing it with others.

Thank you for the role you played in caring for these kids. We get to witness the amazing transformation that God is bringing about in their lives. And may it inspire us to continue investing in the younger generations.

SARA Childrens Home

The Good Lord has proved ever faithful in His work and among children under our care. The children are therefore excelling not only in their academics but also in sports and spiritual growth. These children attend a daily devotion twice during the day with the young kids attending children fellowship on Saturdays while the teenagers fellowship with youth as some even actively participate in worship teams. This aspect has impacted and transformed their lifestyles, leading positive changes in most of them regarding their faith depth.

Moreover, the children's faith is becoming a light to those around them. Some even brought their friends to celebrate Christmas with us, showing how their faith is growing and believing in God. These moments are a testament to the incredible work God is doing in their lives, shaping them into strong individuals with a heart for His kingdom.

We are grateful for your prayers and your generous heart. Your continued support has been the blessing of our organization, which has allowed us to continue our mission of transforming lives and serving those in need. Your prayers and resources have enabled us to provide a caring environment where children can grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

A celebration at the children's home.

A Changed Life

Asha* is an outstanding 16-year-old girl from Mid-West Nepal, currently in grade 10. Born into a poor family that could hardly provide for her basic needs, Asha's life took a turn for the better when a local church pastor learned about her situation and brought her to our orphanage. Since then, Asha has excelled academically and spiritually, giving her life to Christ and being baptized.

Shy and introverted when she came to grade six, Asha has blossomed into a confident, capable young woman. Last month, she received a scholarship from a city organization for outstanding students, providing her with school materials and financial support. Her teachers praised her as one of the best in her class, and she recently ranked first in her terminal exams. Respectful, ever ready to lead, Asha also volunteers in school activities. Now her journey of faith, perseverance, and dedication has become an inspiration for the other children to look up to – to trust God's plans and believe in themselves.

A Bold Witness

It's pretty obvious that God has been doing wonderful things in the life of Sundar.* I vividly remember the day he testified during one of our devotion times here at the orphanage; a moment which I will never forget, truly captured his faith and his courage. We had sent Sundar to a program organized by the Women and Children Department of the municipality. He represented our orphanage among the other participants of this program. The program is meant to educate children on their rights. In this program, the host asked every participant to introduce him/herself.

Now when it was the turn of Sundar, he got up very confidently and it was not only a presentation by telling the name but announced with bold declaration, "I am a Christian, and I follow Jesus Christ." Murmurs occurred in the hall, and the participants went on commenting, "It's unnecessary to talk about religion while giving self-introduction." But Sundar stood up, and said, "It is my right to proclaim my beliefs, and I can share it as I desire. No one can tell me not to speak my faith." Having heard his testimony, I was deeply moved and began to meditate, "Where did this courage come from? How does he have the boldness to assert his right to speak about his faith so confidently?" After Sundar had finished speaking, he quoted Philippians 4:13, saying, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." He explained that his strength and courage that day emanated from his unyielding faith in Jesus Christ.

Sundar has consistently demonstrated leadership, both within his school and our church. He actively volunteers in various school activities, seizing every opportunity to share the gospel with his friends and classmates. His involvement in church services is equally commendable. As an active member of the Youth Fellowship, Sundar often leads the sessions, and on occasion, he shares messages from the Word of God. Therefore, he has become a role model for inspiring his mates, fellow youths, and children within our orphanage by using devotion, passion, and creativity. The journey of Sundar is a reflection of the redemptive power of faith. His courage to stand for his convictions even in bad times and dedicate himself to the service of both his school community and church reflects on the deep commitment he has in Christ. His life is a living example of how God works through those who trust in Him, and his boldness in sharing the gospel has left a lasting impact on everyone around him.
