As we start to see nicer weather here in Sterling Heights, we know many of you want to take full advantage of the amenities our City parks have to offer! See below for a list of park updates we think you should know about!

  • Paddle docks are now open and ready for you to use!
  • Drinking fountains have been restored -- stay hydrated!
  • Sand volleyball, pickleball, and tennis nets are up and ready for you to get active!
  • Park hours have changed! City parks are now open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. April through September!
  • Restrooms are open at Delia Park near the soccer fields, Dog Park, and along the entrance drive. Remaining park restrooms will open throughout the upcoming week.
Music in the Park

We can't wait to rock out with all of you this summer at the 47th annual Music in the Park summer concert series!

Join us at the Dodge Park Amphitheatre on Thursday nights for live music from some pretty awesome bands -- if we do say so ourselves!

Dodge Park Farmers Market

The Dodge Park Farmers Market runs every Thursday starting June 2 until September 29.
 
Come out and enjoy fresh food and produce, all locally made straight to you!
 
We will also be accepting EBT, so no family will be turned away. DPFM participates in the Double Up Food Bucks and Senior Project FRESH/Market program.

Patios 'n' Pints

The Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce will host Patios 'n' Pints once again this summer at the Upton House garden, across the street from the Dodge Park Farmers Market!

Each week new craft beers will be featured for you to enjoy! You can find the full lineup on the Chamber's website!

Join us for a night amongst the stars, glitz, and glam of Hollywood on Thursday, May 19 at Century Banquet Center! You will feel like a star dancing to music throughout the decades!

All participants must register by May 6!
Let's play ball! Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation invites you to come on out to the ballgame for our Adult Softball Leagues!

Season starts the first week of May, so come on in and get your team registered! All leagues will play at Baumgartner Park on 15 Mile Road, just west of Schoenherr. Game start times are between 6:25 p.m. and 9:55 p.m. depending on the number of registered teams per league.

Leagues offered:
  • Men's Monday Softball League
  • Women's Tuesday Softball League
  • Co-Ed Thursday Softball League
  • Co-Ed Friday Softball League

Minimum game guarantee (season and playoff): 12 games for single header leagues.

Cost: $685.00
Fees include regular season, single elimination playoffs, game balls, championship awards and a $75 refundable forfeit fee.

Half payment is due at time of registration.

Umpire fees are additional ($18 per game).

No Residency Requirements. Don't delay - these leagues will fill up!

Teen Yoga

In this six-week long program, learn relaxation methods for everyday practice.
 
Designed especially for teens, this yoga class will teach you relaxation methods, breathing techniques and creative expression through movement.

Teen Skills: Easy Ways to Organize

Learn a new skill each month that could last a lifetime! Designed especially for teens, we will learn organizational skills that will be easy enough to apply to your everyday life!
Teen Night Out: Teens Got Talent (Karaoke Night)

Ever wanted to be a star and sing on the big stage?

Or maybe you want to just have fun with your friends singing and hanging out! Either way, this night is for you!

Snacks and drinks will be provided.
In honor of Senior Nutrition Month, the Senior Center is challenging you to have a little fun!

Play our game by filling out our quiz here! Participants can return completed forms from April 1 through May 3 at 12 p.m. to the Senior Center or seniorcenter@sterling-heights.net.

Individuals who submit a completed game will be entered into our prize drawing.

We have grocery store gift cards and free Dining Senior Style meals as prizes, and who doesn’t want a chance at free food!

Join us on Tuesday, April 19 at 10 a.m. to help celebrate National Volunteer week! We are spotlighting Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers who are locally making a difference in Sterling Heights and surrounding counties!

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers are a non-profit organization that provides free services to seniors and disabled adults to help them remain independent in their own homes.

Examples of services include transportation, grocery shopping and indoor/outdoor chores. Come learn about the organization, services they provide, how to register as a client, as well as how to sign to give the gift of time as a volunteer.
Revitalize your body, relax your mind and reduce stress with slow, gentle poses that increase strength and flexibility!

Class will take place on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. starting July 11 through August 29*.
