Shaping Summer Systems

Join in the Oregon Summer Learning Collaborative (re)kicking off this fall, October 20th at 12pm PT. This gathering will be a great opportunity to help inform advocacy and legislative opportunities coming up over the next year in order to help build more sustainable summer funds for Oregon in the future. Sign up HERE and read more about the Collaborative HERE.

OregonASK has been participating in the Oregon Summer Learning Collaborative since June of 2021 when a team of Oregon leaders interested in summer learning convened its own Collaborative to collectively create a space for sustained equity collaboration around out-of-school learning and enrichment that centers students and families year-round.

We hope that programs and partners from around the state will be able to join in to help leverage recent investments into long-term and sustainable impact, knowing this can only be achieved in community. Meetings will be held monthly on Thursdays at 12pm (PT). The October meeting will include:
  • Re/orientation to the Collaborative (who, what, why)
  • What’s Happening Now
  • What’s Next: What do we want to see in place in 2-3 years as a result of our actions?
Summer Feedback Opportunities

In August, Region 16 Comprehensive Center in partnership with the Oregon Association of Education Service Districts, awarded a contract to OregonASK to provide reporting support for the Oregon Community Summer Grant initiative. Throughout the reporting process, we will rely heavily on qualitative (narrative) data, and hearing directly from those most impacted by the grant funding. If you have questions or would like to be able to provide additional feedback, please reach out to bethany.thramer@oregonask.org.
