Construction Updates

Welcome to the work zone!

At U.S. 69 and 167th Street, excavation continues as the new interchange begins to take shape. Underground utility work is taking place between 159th and 151st Streets along the west side of U.S. 69. At 143rd Street and U.S. 69, bridge work continues as the new bridge deck for the southbound U.S. 69 bridge has been poured. At U.S. 69 and 139th Street, retaining walls are being built. At the on-ramp from 135th Street to southbound U.S. 69, paving is taking place. The new southbound U.S. 69 bridges over 135th Street and Tomahawk Creek will have girders set soon.

U.S. 69 at Blue Valley Parkway has paving work underway, onto which traffic will transition in the coming weeks. Significant bridge work continues at Indian Creek, with paving happening soon after Labor Day. At College Boulevard and U.S. 69, drilled shafts and pile driving for two new U.S. 69 bridges is now underway. The closed loop ramp from westbound I-435 and southbound U.S. 69 has allowed crews to demolish a retaining wall and drill shafts and drive steel pile to begin construction on a new bridge. Work in this area will continue to close lanes overnight.

Please watch for crews and equipment and be patient with other drivers during this work. Daily lane drops and overnight work will continue throughout the summer in various areas in the work zone. Subscribe to our text alerts here to receive details on every closure and change. Please continue to check 69Express.org for the latest information, as construction schedules are fluid and can change with the weather.

An Aerial Look at the Project

Here are just a few photos of the U.S. 69 corridor in some of the locations where crews have been hard at work:

Bridge, retaining wall, and grading work are taking place at U.S. 69 and 135th Street Interchange.

Paving and widening work at U.S. 69 and 151st Street just before the ramp to 151st Street reopened to traffic.

Grading, paving, widening, and bridge construction are all moving forward over Indian Creek.
