St. Johns County has launched its 2024–2029 Strategic Plan, a roadmap designed to chart the course for the County’s future. After an extensive community engagement process, the plan reflects the collective vision of a thriving community.

County Moves Forward to Secure the Florida Museum of Black History

On March 11, the Florida Senate Committee on Community Affairs reported favorably on Senate Bill 466 by a vote of 7-0, which supports the efforts of St. Johns County to secure the state’s first Black History Museum in the West Augustine area. Florida Senator Thomas J. “Tom” Leek, District 7, filed the legislation creating a governance framework for the Florida Museum of Black History.

County Launches Inside SJC Video Series

St. Johns County is launching a new video series, Inside SJC, aimed at educating, engaging, and empowering residents and business owners by showcasing the County’s departments, services, and key initiatives. The video series will roll out strategically, with each episode focusing on timely topics for the community.

County Celebrates Start of Construction on Flagler Estates Fire Station #21 and Sheriff's Office Joint Facility

St. Johns County officials and residents gathered to celebrate the start of construction on the $3.8 million Fire Station 21 & Sheriff’s Office Joint Facility. This new facility will be located in the Flagler Estates Community and service the surrounding Hastings area.

On March 8, St. Johns County officials, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate the Parks and Recreation Department’s designation as a Certified Autism Center with a press conference and Kite Day at Treaty Park. The Office of Public Affairs made a video to commemorate the event.

County Kicks Off Football Field Renovation at Solomon Calhoun Community Center

On March 3, St. Johns County officials, staff, and community members gathered at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center (1300 Duval St., St. Augustine) football field for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of work to replace the field’s grass with artificial turf. The Office of Public Affairs made a video to commemorate the event.

St. Johns County joined the Villages Baseball Association and a huge crowd on March 1 to celebrate the grand opening of Mill Creek Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and first pitches from county commissioners. The Office of Public Affairs made a video to commemorate the special day.
