Hello Rick and Maria,

In 2024, we celebrated Zentangle’s 20th anniversary through a series of project packs, blogs, newsletters, tangles and a new and revamped Certified Zentangle Teacher training program.

In the beginning, our CZT seminars were intimate gatherings in a small town in central Massachusetts where we enthusiastically shared the Zentangle Method and all that the “8 Steps of the Zentangle Method” had to teach. Over time, our Zentangle family has grown, and the program has gracefully evolved. Time and technology have also given us the ability to reach an international audience of like-minded artists with options to join us in person or remotely from the comfort of their own home.

In 2024, we offered a re-designed and expanded CZT training seminar. Our face-to-face time together, whether in person or through a webinar platform, included 3 days of live instruction and was dedicated to a more in-depth study of the roots of the method, how to teach the Zentangle Method and the tangles, philosophies and stories behind the method.

Over the course of the year, Zentangle, Inc, along with our seminar partners, Conzentric (Europe) and Created With Love (Asia), certified 713 teachers from all over the world over the course of 4 seminars.

We wanted to take a moment to celebrate these kind and creative teachers and welcome them to the CZT family!

Zentangle, Inc - CZT 42

In November of 2024, we had over 350 people join us, either in Newport, Rhode Island or online from their homes around the world, for CZT 42.

We had attendees join us from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, England, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Ireland, Japan, Panama, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Scotland, USA, Wales and our very first CZT in Madagascar!

CZT 42 had over 60 attendees join us from Japan. Many of them took part in the language support program that we offer with an existing CZT. A second group, from South Korea, also used the language support system.

Over the course of the seminar, attendees immersed themselves in the Zentangle Method and its philosophies, tangled (a lot!), made new friends, caught up with old friends and as always, had so much fun!

New this year was the introduction of our zenPals™ program. Attendees, both in person and online, were paired with another attendee and tasked with finding and connecting with them. This exercise was a wonderful ice breaker for our in-person attendees and a great way to create a more intimate connection between the online attendees. We are excited to see how our zenPals™ program grows in 2025!

Conzentric - CZT EU 8

Our seminar partner, Conzentric, hosts CZT seminars in Europe. These seminars are given in English and German, with French and Spanish translations, bringing together tanglers from all of Europe and beyond, both in person and online.

CZT EU 8 was a special seminar, not only did they follow the new seminar format, but they welcomed in-person attendees back for the first time in a long time. Gathering in Munich, Germany, the seminar days were filled with joy, creativity and connection.

This inspiring group of tanglers included almost 50 French-speaking participants and the very first CZT from Slovenia.

Created With Love - CZT Asia 24 & 25

Our seminar partner, Created With Love, hosts CZT seminars in Asia in the Mandarin language. In 2024, they hosted not one, but two seminars in our new seminar format. In addition to the new seminar format, they also introduced a hybrid model where the program was divided into two parts; a preliminary course (online) and the live course (2 days in person or streamed live), which provided greater flexibility in learning.

The team at Created With Love was deeply moved by the story of one participant who is battling brain cancer. They did not know this initially, but as they got to know her, her story and why she chose to attend the seminar, they were inspired by her resilience. Her journey was a humbling reminder of their mission of bringing the Zentangle Method to those who love it and those who truly need it.
