Back to School Night at Vessels

We look forward to the 2021-2022 Vessels BTSN this Wednesday, September 1, at 6:00 p.m. It will once again be a virtual meeting via Zoom, and we look forward to a highly informative and great night together!

Your child's teacher will send a link(s) to you this Monday, August 30. Feel free to join any of the two sessions, 6:00-6:30 p.m. and/or 6:30-7:00 p.m. You can also watch the video here for more information about BTSN and upcoming Vessels events.

Lastly, we will hold our first general PTA meeting this year via Zoom on September 1 before BTSN at 5:15 p.m. Please click the link here to join at that time.
Math Links

Would you like some resources for math practice? I have included some links to help you at home to ensure your child has all the resources they need to stay busy and have fun at the same time! We love math at Vessels and hope you do too!

Attendance

Daily school attendance is vitally important for student success. In fact, there is a direct correlation between school attendance and higher proficiency rates. Inversely, absenteeism, particularly chronic absenteeism, leads to lower grades and performing below grade-level standards. A study from Attendance Works notes,

"On average, children miss 5 days in kindergarten, 4.5 days in first grade, and 3.7 days in both third and fifth grades. However, almost 14% of kindergartners, 12% of first graders, 11% of third graders, and 10% of fifth-graders were at-risk absentees: they missed an average of 12 to 18 days during the school year. Over 11% of kindergartners, almost 9% of first graders, 6% of third graders, and 5% of fifth-graders were chronic absentees: they missed at least 18 days or more of the school year. In total, one-quarter of all kindergarten children were either at-risk or chronic absentees."

Please help us by having your child at Vessels daily (unless ill). Your efforts will make a difference and can help all children achieve and excel in the classroom! Click the link to find out more!
Safety at Vessels

To ensure Vessels is safe for our kids at arrival and dismissal, please only use the large loop for drop off and pick up in the lot (noted by the green check below).

Please, do not have students walk through the lot to get to your car (noted by the red X).

When using the loop, pull all the way forward to allow all cars to enter the lot.

Also, students should only enter cars/trucks on the right side of the car, closest to school.
