Cradles to Crayons was a huge success...THANK YOU!
Over 60 bags of children's clothing, shoes, diapers and coats were donated by our wonderful Great Valley community during our Fall Cradles to Crayons donation drive. It would never have happened with out the tremendous number of student and adult volunteers that assisted during multiple weekends.
Thanks so much to all who either volunteered or donated to our 3rd Annual Caring Hands Cradles to Crayons donation driverive. All was very appreciated.

I like to encourage people to realize that any action is a good action if it's proactive and there is positive intent behind it.

Intern Spotlight
Meet Niharika R.
Niharika is a Junior at Great Valley High School and is a member of the Model United Nations Club, Drama Guild, and Swim Team. She wanted to be a part of GVCO’s High School Internship Program after participating in the badminton and volleyball camps held at GVCO. She hopes to develop her leadership skills while working with others in the program because she feels this would help her better understand some of the current issues students face today.
Niharika believes that by participating in the Model United Nations club, she has learned to work with others toward a common goal while building her research and organizational skills.
When asked what is the best thing about the Great Valley Community, Niharika said when she moved here in 8th grade, she was nervous about coming to a new school but found everyone extremely welcoming. She would like to give back to the community as a way to say thank you to a community that has been so accepting.

Philadelphia is the nation's poorest big city with nearly 300,000 children living in poverty across the region. Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia has a reach that goes well beyond the borders of the city itself.
Philadelphia is the nation's poorest big city with nearly 300,000 children living in poverty across the region. Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia has a reach that goes well beyond the borders of the city itself.
Chester County, including the Malvern area, is included in the region in which Cradles to Crayons is having an impact. GVCO is once again partnering with Cradles to Crayons, hosting our 3rd Annual Donation Drive. Reaching out to our Great Valley community in an effort to help those right here in our area.
Part of Cradles to Crayons' mission: "Our whole focus is to make our collaborative process as easy and streamlined as possible. This helps us to empower the children we serve collaboratively — at home, at school, and at play — by providing the everyday essentials that match their individual needs." GVCO's reach here in the community, coupled with Cradles to Crayons' ability to reach those in need is the perfect partnership for our GVCO Caring Hands foundation.
Childhood poverty is a serious nationwide issue and the local area is not immune. Without adequate and appropriate clothing, children face unfair barriers and participate in life on an unequal playing field. Cradles to Crayons uses the term “Clothing Insecurity” as part of our efforts to formally recognize the issue, and increase awareness on this hidden basic need.
GVCO is proud to be partnering with such a worthy organization in helpng Cradles to Crayons reach its inspiring mission and goals.

Tom Farrelly
Daughter:`Hey Dad", Me, "Greatest thing I'll ever be"
What GVCO provided for me and the girls CAN NOT be overstated. Picking them up after school, getting to practice/games, out to eat, hanging with other parents, etc. We got to interact/experience a bit of actual day/day life on life's terms.
Nothing takes the place of being there and for sure some things would have been different. So many experiences, "Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want". I got to play Dad and coach...and the girls had a role model.
Know that GVCO has made a difference in the lives of my daughters and myself. That is very noble.
-Tom Farrelly, GVBL Ref & GV Dad whose daughters are GVSD graduates and GVBL participants.
