At Meher Center, 1956

Dear Meher Center Family and Friends,

Please join us this Sunday, December 4, at 4 p.m., for a virtual conversation with Meher Center board members. This one-hour gathering will include a sharing of what is currently happening at the Center, as well as time for participants to ask questions and speak with board members.

We look forward to meeting with you this weekend. Please click here to access the meeting.

Also, please look for an announcement early next week about the Center’s engagement in social media!

In describing the role of the Avatar, Meher Baba said:

“In those who contact Him, He awakens a love that consumes all selfish desires in the flame of the one desire to serve Him. Those who consecrate their lives to Him gradually become identified with Him in consciousness. Little by little their humanity is absorbed into His divinity, and they become free.”*

In Baba’s love and service,

Lovers' Offerings

Family Letter #48

Read by Joe DiSabatino

16:59

These are readings of a collection of letters written by Mani, Meher Baba’s sister, to the Western family of Baba lovers between 1956 and 1969.

"Every day of our lives is a spiritual power that is helping us"

In 1927, Meher Baba established the Meher Ashram, a full academic and spiritual academy, in Meherabad. In this interview conducted by Irwin Luck in 1971, Khodayar Namiranian—sitting alongside fellow students Esfandiar Vesali and Sheriar Mehrabanpour—shares a glimpse into the lives of the boys who attended the school, and their utter devotion to Meher Baba.

"A joyous going forward"

In this recording, Mani Irani, Meher Baba's sister, tackles the topic of death. She shares with us how death is a joyous occasion for the departed, even if it is painful for those left behind. She helps us understand with anecdotes about Baba’s own dealings with death throughout His lifetime, and His repeated message that death is no different than changing clothes; that death is always a relief for the soul who has moved on. As Mani says, “It’s always ... a joyous going forward. It's never anything else.”
