DOE Issues Draft Request for Proposal for the Portsmouth Decontamination and Decommissioning Contract
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) issued a Draft Request for Proposal for the new Portsmouth Decontamination and Decommissioning Contract (PORTS D&D) to be performed at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP) Site in southern Ohio.
The new Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) Contract under the End State Contracting Model (ESCM) will have a maximum value of up to $5.87 billion, includes a 10-year ordering period, and performance of task orders issued before the end of the Contract ordering period shall not exceed five years beyond the end of the Contract ordering period. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) issued a Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Portsmouth Paducah Project Office Operations (PPPO) and Site Mission Support (OSMS).
The new Cost-Plus-Award-Fee (CPAF) Contract with Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) CLIN(s) will have an estimated value of $1.89 billion over the 10-year 3-months period of work. Adena to Open Urgent Care
on Bridge Street in Chillicothe
Adena Health System announced today that it will expand its services in Chillicothe with the addition of a new Urgent Care facility on Bridge Street. The 6,400 square-foot facility will be located in a shared space with Rural King at 1470 North Bridge Street, Chillicothe.
“We recognize the healthcare needs of our communities continue to grow and patients and their families deserve facilities and services that are convenient and close to where they live and work,” said Adena President and CEO Jeff Graham. “Our Adena Urgent Care – Western Avenue location in Chillicothe continues to see record patient volumes, so the opening of this new location not only benefits our patients with more care options but also our providers and caregivers in reducing the strains on their staffing and resources.”
Graham added, “We greatly appreciate our partners with Rural King for sharing in this vision of bringing valuable urgent care services to Chillicothe’s north end of town.”

Telephone Support Group for Caregivers
Caregivers are a vital part of the healthcare system – they provide loving and essential care to their family or loved one. As part of their role, it is important for caregivers to have a resource to reach out to if they need help and support. Through the Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7), a Caregiver Telephone Support Group is available for the ten core counties the Agency serves which include Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton. The next call will take place on Thursday, January 20th from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm. All family caregivers are welcome and invited to participate.
Each month, the group offers caregivers time to gain and give support with other caregivers and resources, and educational topics related to caregiving. The monthly telephone support group is facilitated by staff with the Caregiver Support Program at the AAA7. The telephone option provides caregivers with the opportunity to learn and gain support from each other without leaving their homes...

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS WORKSHOP
The OhioMeansJobs Pike County Career Center at the Community Action Committee of Pike County will be hosting a no-cost workshop focusing on basic computer skills on Thursday, January 27th from 1 – 3 pm. This event will be conducted at the OhioMeansJobs Career Center Training Lab located at 941 Market Street, Piketon. Registration is required due to limited space.
This workshop will offer a general overview of the basic skills and knowledge needed to use a computer for work-related needs such as: setting up an email account, Internet browsing safety tips, Microsoft Office software, and more.
