City Wins Prestigious Helen Putnam Award for Student Success Programs

The City of Moreno Valley's top notch student success programs have been recognized statewide. Last week, the League of California Cities awarded the City with the prestigious Helen Putnam Award for Excellence.

The City’s consortium of five core programs—MoVaLEARNS, College Promise, College Corps, Career Day Academy, and apprenticeship initiatives—provide financial assistance, engagement opportunities, and work experience for high school and college students throughout Moreno Valley. The award was presented to the City during the League's Annual Conference & Expo on Thursday, September 21, in Sacramento, California.

Established in 1982 by the League of California Cities, the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence recognizes and promotes city governments’ outstanding efforts and innovative solutions.

Our Pet of the Week is Daisy, an adorable three-year-old Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix. Daisy is just about the sweetest girl we have ever met, and she immediately jumps in your arms when you give her a good belly scratch. Daisy would be perfect for families and older couples looking for a new companion. Once you meet Daisy, you won't want to let her go.
