Dear SEFAA Friends,
I am thrilled to serve as the President of SEFAA for the next couple of years! Having been a board member for several years, I’ve witnessed incredible growth within SEFAA and the vibrant textile community we support. I sincerely appreciate outgoing President Katrina Stone for her dedication and support over the past six years. I’m also grateful for her continued commitment to serving on several of our committees. Looking ahead to 2025, we have ambitious plans to continue expanding our offerings for you. Our educational programming team is hard at work, bringing 51 textile classes across a variety of techniques. We’re also excited to partner with Lesson Face, an online education platform that allows you to access expert-led textile courses from the comfort of your home. Be sure to explore our classes now open for registration on our website: SEFAA Classes.
In addition to our educational programs, we have an inspiring lineup of five exhibitions planned for the year. We’ll kick things off in March with a special exhibit by Jess Jones, Associate Professor of Textiles at Georgia State University, and her students. Save the date for the opening reception of Betwixt & Between: New Interpretations of Quilting on Saturday, March 8th, from 1-4 PM. Our Square Foot Pin Up Show will take place later than usual this year, running in July and August. And, in early November, our Intertwined: Contemporary Southeastern Fiber Art exhibit will return at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta—stay tuned for the call for entry!
There’s so much more in the works, and we’ll share updates as plans come to life. In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you—please feel free to reach out to me at president@fiberartsalliance.org with comments or questions. I look forward to an exciting year ahead!
Diana Quinn
