Dear Friends,

Congratulations to Grafton High School seniors Owen Pryga and Michael Rose! Owen took home a gold medal and Michael earned the silver in automotive maintenance and light repair at the SkillsUSA state final this month.

This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Whether you live in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, or Waukesha County, there is a location near you to safely drop off old and unused prescription drugs. Click on your county to learn more.

As always, if you have any concerns or ideas on how to improve our great state, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 608-266-5830 or by email at Sen.Darling@legis.wisconsin.gov.

On, Wisconsin!
Holocaust Remembrance Day
Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. We must never forget the horrors of the Holocaust and the murder of six million people because they were Jewish or members of other minority groups.

Sadly, two-thirds of American millennials couldn’t identify Auschwitz, and 22% had never heard of the Holocaust. That's why I authored a new law that will make sure every child in Wisconsin will learn about the Holocaust twice during their schooling at no charge to taxpayers. The curriculum is provided, free of charge, from the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center in Milwaukee.

I'm also excited to report that Arizona is the latest state to add a requirement for Holocaust education in their schools Governor Doug Ducey signed the bill into law this week. I'm grateful that this important legislation is getting support all over the country.

Thanks to Love Wisconsin, a digital storytelling project of Wisconsin Humanities, there is even more fascinating and free content that preserves the stories of Holocaust survivors like Werner Richheimer. Click on the photo to hear his story.
April is Donate Life Month
April is Donate Life Month. As you may know, my husband was on the organ donation waiting list when he passed away, so I know first-hand what it's like to wait and hope.

Right now, there are more than 2,000 people on the organ donation waiting list in our state. Almost half have waited more than two years.

Watch the video above to see and hear the story of Germantown resident, Lynn Carey. If you would like to add your name to the list visit DonateLife Wisconsin.
