As we enter the holidays, CLAS is proud to celebrate another exciting year of Latin American research, teaching, and outreach. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, 2021 was marked by many successes:
- A record number of FLAS fellows improved their Portuguese and Quechua
- Diverse audiences enjoyed lecture series on Afro-Brazilian arts and activism, Latin American language inclusivity, Bolivian film, and social change across Abya Yala
- Affiliates across campus created new Latin American-centered curricula
- OSU Libraries expanded its Latin American holdings with new special collections
- K-12 teachers incorporated Latin American children's literature into their classrooms
- Latin American artists, authors, linguists, pedagogues, and performers shared their expertise with the community
- ... and much, much more!
Here's to continued growth in 2022!
