Happy Friday -
I'm on the East Coast again for a few days, but this time for a last minute family care situation. Thankful to the HP crew for holding down the fort while I am away.
I know many of you are excited about the 49ers game this Sunday, as am I. But I wanted to let you know that our Harbor Point Charitable Foundation will be hosting our annual grant recipients there from 4-6pm on Sunday, so unfortunately the HP Clubhouse will not be a great place to watch the game (The Lighthouse closes at 4pm anyways on Sundays...). Even watching it in the hospitality room, the volume will need to be turned low. Sorry to disappoint! Luckily there are lots of great places in the area to catch this particular playoff action.
On a completely different note, with all of the wild weather we experienced over the last month or so, I wanted to turn you all on to a great website, where you can get a full satellite view of the cloud and storm movement all over the world. Check it out at https://zoom.earth
Be sure to click on the various other views in the menu to the left, including precipitation, wind, temperature, etc, and press the play button, located bottom middle, to get the full weather animation.
Lots of other info in this newsletter, as well, including the very sad passing of longtime HP Member, Mike Driver, A chance for customized Indian Wells experiences, Important Friday Fitness updates from Leigh, a Valentine's Day Tennis Mixer, videos videos videos and more...

Stay warm, dry and safe out there,

Loss of Our Friend, Michael Driver
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of long time Harbor Point member, Michael Driver, the night before last.
Michael and his lovely wife, Karen, have been members at Harbor Point for over 30 years. In his younger years Mike was quite the rugby player in England. In his later years, he was one of Harbor Point's biggest jokesters. Always a sweet kind and joyful soul, Mike will be truly missed by many of us at Harbor Point. We send our sympathies and healing thoughts to Karen and family.

Beneficiary in Focus: St Vincent de Paul Society (and the results of our Matching Challenge!)
Over the holidays we had our St Vincent de Paul Society of Marin (SVdPS) Fundraiser with a matching challenge, where we had 10K in matching from the HPCF and 10K from a HPCF board member. From the members and residents we raised $5,000 in December (Nice!) and both the HPCF and the HPCF board member decided to throw in the full 10K each to make the total donation to St Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County reach a total of: $25,000!!!
Thank you to all who donated to the SVdPS Fundraiser!
(and to the SF Marin Food Bank Drive - - we'll share the results of that in the next few weeks.)
About St Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County:

Increase Strength and Mobility with Pilates and GYROTONIC Sessions
Harbor Point members (and non-members!) can improve their flexibility and achieve an overall feeling of balance at Carla Daro-Kaliski’s Spiral Studio. Her GYROTONIC and Pilates sessions can stimulate your muscle, skeletal, and nervous systems to increase strength and joint mobilization, as well as decompress the spine, so your whole body experiences greater vitality in a natural way. For beginners and experienced athletes, too.
You’re invited to try a discounted introductory package of 3 lessons, available for just $175. Book online and learn more at www.spiralstudiomarin.com. Reach out with any questions :)
I am loving Gyrotonic, and Carla is just fabulous. It has made me stronger and more flexible from just a few sessions, and is gradually improving the way I sit, stand, and move. Very subtle and pretty amazing stuff.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
