A Victory for AVV and Veterans
|
What a victory for the AVV team and Veterans! Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears, Jason Miyares elected, nine key House Districts held, and seven House Districts were won by AVV supported candidates. The House of Delegates is under new leadership. Over 60,000 calls made, countless doors knocked, 68 events hosted or supported, 13 newsletters published, and over 1 million emails sent.
Work hard, win, celebrate, take a knee - rinse and repeat. It’s post-election, AVV is still here and we continue to build our strengths, add experience and allies, and gather teammates. There’s an After-Action Review (AAR) to do, key supporters to thank, bills to pay, and planning to undertake…But, OMG, did I mention CELEBRATE the team, our work together, and real Success!!

As of this newsletter, the final number of Veterans who voted in the 2021 election has not been published. However, all indictors are that Veterans voted in record numbers, and your efforts with AVV were an important part of this positive turnout. We expect the final election numbers to be released on or around November 15, 2021, and will provide an update in the AVV Newsletter. The Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) data below is a summary of voter turnout. See more at vpap.org

A Veteran's Voice
Kennetha White
|
I am a Vietnam era Veteran. I enlisted in the Army as a part of the Women’s Army Corp. There I learned to appreciate freedom and the pursuit of happiness in such a controlled, disciplined, environment. Then, I hated it! Now, all I can say is “God is good.”
Our Flag, the American Flag, the “Red, White and Blue”, and what it stands for penetrates my heart through any crisis until freedom is won! The Red is the blood of my fellow soldiers who gave their lives for my Freedoms. I say, “Thank You”. The White is for purity and innocence that we together stand independent as a nation. The Blue is for Justice for all, and that we must remain watchful and strong.
So today, we are free to vote. Did you vote in this election? Did you take 10 fellow Veterans with you?
