Snow in SoCal?
In the month of February, Upland, CA, usually gets 2.7 inches of rain, yet San Antonio Heights Community Church in Upland, CA, got almost 6" of rain and some snow this past month! Yep, snow. This picture was taken on Saturday, February 25, 2023. It's been a wet end of winter here in SoCal. Some churches canceled their winter camps in the mountains last week because of the blizzard conditions and road closures. We serve a mighty God who is in control of all things. He can take tiny snowflakes and stop humanity in its tracks. Some have concluded that nature occurs beyond God’s control. Nope. It's a good reminder that our lives are in God's hands. Psalm 148:7-8 says, "Praise the Lord from the earth you creatures of the ocean depths, fire, hail, snow and clouds, wind, and weather that obey him." In Jonah, we read, "the Lord hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm." (Jonah 1:4 NLT) Our God is an all-powerful, all-good provider who is wise and purposeful in all things.

New Location for Mountain View | Pastor Eric Motl announced that Mountain View Bible Church in Alpine, CA, has moved to the Alpine Community Center, giving them a more central location and visibility in town. After years of renting another building with 24/7 availability, the rent increased tremendously, putting a huge strain on their finances to continue at that location. After much prayer, they found this better location for a significantly lower rental rate. Praise God. They started meeting in the community center in February. | | |

Smooth Transition in Canoga Park
In January, First Baptist Church merged with Mount Ararat Bible Church to become The Mount Bible Church. Pastor Jason Matossian is the lead pastor and doing a great job. They combined elder boards and congregations, which benefited all involved. Over the last several weeks, they've averaged 250+ and are growing. Good things are happening.

Preaching Workshop
Relevancy occurs when the listeners “see” how a biblical truth applies to a specific situation. Until they get a mental “picture” of some real-life person, event, or circumstance in their everyday world, the biblical truth remains an abstraction—vague and unhelpful. Through four pages of outline notes and extensive audience interaction, this training will increase your ability to connect biblical truth to contemporary life.
