Medina City Schools Shadow Day
In Medina, we are continuing our quest to increase student career awareness, and are starting to offer Day Shadowing options for students in grades 6-12.

Students will be responsible to arrange the visit, interview the site host, interact with others and assist where possible at the facility, and complete a reflection and any missed class work. Site hosts would need to spend time mentoring a student for a day and complete a short evaluation of the student’s visit. This is the information that is being made available to students: MHS Career Day Shadowing Information and MHS Career Day Shadowing Forms.

In order to assist students with finding day shadowing placements, I am attempting to create a database of local options. If you would consider hosting a student for Day Shadowing, please click HERE to complete a short form.

Thank you for your continued investment in our students!

Business As Usual
The Medina Chamber is excited to partner with Armstrong for “Business as Usual,” a show highlighting local businesses in Medina.

Business as Usual, hosted by Jaclyn Ringstmeier of the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce, gives viewers a glimpse inside the local business community and takes viewers behind the storefronts that are the hallmark of the beautiful Medina Square. Hear the stories behind how their businesses were started and get to know more about the products and services that they provide.

Check local listings for broadcast times. Armstrong Neighborhood Channel can be found on channels 4 and 100 and is available to all Armstrong television customers. Armstrong Neighborhood Channel content can be found easily at ArmstrongNeighborhood.com, or by finding Armstrong Neighborhood Channel on YouTube.

Chamber Business Blog
Is it just us or does Black Friday seem to have withered on the vine? Years ago, people would run out to get their newspapers on Thanksgiving to peruse the deals and map out their shopping plans.

This year, holiday deals began in October and thus they’ve lost some of their luster and excitement. Yes, there are many good deals to be had and there’s something to be said for not having to wait outside for a store to open, but there’s no thrill of the hunt, no memorable experience.

That gives the advantage to small business like you who can use Facebook to promote in addition to capitalizing on the thrill of (non-crazy) shopping, the surprises, and the unique experiences and good that you offer. But you have to make sure people know about you. One way to do that is by advertising.
