Redeemed!

Rooted in God's Word: Last week there were many different reports on snow totals that we were supposed to get during the week and the weekend. Most snow totals were significantly below what was predicted earlier in the week, but we are used to weather reports not always being 100% accurate. On the other hand, there are many things that we want to be totally accurate without any mistakes or misinformation. The great news for us is we do have God's holy Word which is perfect, 100% accurate, the absolute truth, and it gives us the peace to know that we are forgiven and redeemed. What a blessing that we can rely on God's Word to provide us with comfort, joy, strength, courage, support, encouragement, love, and forgiveness. Ultimately, the Bible points us to our Savior who has redeemed us from sin, death, and the devil. As we anticipate the next snow storm and the predicted snow totals, let us take comfort in knowing that God's Word is never wrong and will always direct us in the way we should go. Thanks be to God!

My Grandchildren's Teachers: If you wonder what the teachers may look like when your children currently in school have children of their own at St. Peter, they could have Mrs. Sherry, Mrs. Homrich, and Mrs. Fehn. (This picture was taken last week on 100s day!)

St. Peter PTL: Parent Tip Line

PTL Tips of the Week: If you are looking for a helpful book to gain skills and tools that help you with raising a child, Simple Habits for Effective Parenting by Randall Schroeder is a great resource. During the next several weeks, we will share with you some good tips to try as a family.

"Conversational interactions within a family are foundational for building stronger relationships. Learning to effectively communicate will make a significant difference for your child as an adult." Having a weekly family night on your calendar each week can provide a time in which your family is together and enjoying some sort of activity and meal. This will also provide a great time to encourage conversations and communication within your family.

Panther Athletics

A-Team Girls Tournament Highlights: The girls played in the TCLL Silver Tournament. Their first game was supposed to be against St. Paul, Flint on Thursday, but they had too much sickness and our Lady Panthers were able to move on to the next game on Saturday at VLHS where they played Christ the King, Sebewaing. The girls stayed close and were only down 6-8 going into the third quarter, but they struggled offensively in the second half and lost 8-22 with Ava Hyatt, Lucy Roberson, Hannah Biber, and Katie Hales all scoring 2 points each. In their final game, they were matched up against St. Paul, Saginaw, and it was a close game from the tip to the final buzzer. The girls won a nail-biter 18-16, and finished their season with a 3rd place finish and a 5-6 record. Scorers in their last game were Hannah Biber (8), Larkin McQueen (4), Ava Hyatt (4), and Katie Hales (2). Congratulation girls!

A-Team Boys Tournament Results: The boys played their first game of the TCLL Gold Tournament at Faith on Friday night, and their opponents were the Peace Panthers. Our St. Peter Panthers jumped out to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter which enabled them to keep the lead the whole game and they won 41-29. Lawson Harry led the team with 21 points (including five 3-pointers), and Brady Klemish added 11 points. Rounding out the scoring were Ethan Smith (4), Charlie Hyatt (3), and Brody Curnutt (2). In their second game, they were matched up against St. Lorenz (the Spartans won the tournament), and the Panthers were down 6-23 after the first quarter. The boys battled back the whole game, but they couldn't overcome their first quarter deficit and they lost 36-54. Charlie Hyatt had the game high with 12 points, and Brady Klemish added 10 points. Other scorers were Lawson Harry (9), Ethan Smith (4), and Brody Curnutt (1). In their final game, our Panthers were matched up against St. Michael's, Richville, the only team that defeated us in the regular season. The boys used that as motivation as they took an early lead and rolled to a 39-26 win. Lawson Harry had 17 points (including five 3-pointers), Charlie Hyatt had 8 points, and Brady Klemish had 7 points. Ethan Smith (5), and Brody Curnutt (3) rounded out the scoring. The boys finished their season with a 3rd place finish in the TCLL Gold Tournament and an 11-2 final record. Great season boys!
