News & Updates from the Ballwin Public Works Department

Winter Weather is (Hopefully) Over

Winter weather is (hopefully) over for the year, so crews have begun prepping for Spring construction projects!

Ries Road Project

In 2025, the City of Ballwin will resurface Ries Road to address deteriorated pavement. Benefits include a smoother driving surface, upgraded and more cost efficient street lighting, and compliance with federal regulations. Approval of federal funding was received for the resurfacing of Ries Road, to which the City will receive reimbursement of 80% of the total construction cost.

This is a resurfacing project and not a street reconstruction. Since this project was made possible by a grant, the City is bound to the project specifications submitted during the grant process, and is limited in its ability to work outside of the approved scope of the project. Claymont Drive Project

Crews will begin work on Claymont Drive this Spring/Summer to repair/replace curb & gutters. Missouri American Water has already completed one side of the street, and the City will complete the other by the end of the year.

Streets/slabs/paving will be done over the next few years until the road is completed.

Public Works Requests

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 121.02 centerline miles of street pavement. We want to ensure you have good, safe roads to get you where you need to go. And because no one knows the roads you travel on better than you, we want to hear from you whenever you notice something that needs our attention.
