Just…

random thoughts. Thanksgiving, I hope for everyone, was fulfilling literally and

figuratively and was spent with those you adore. Mine was. Plenty of turkey, stuffing (which we knew as dressing), and my quest to replicate the very same southern dishes that were served lo those many years ago in Memphis. Success. So when Lew and I got married and I was exposed to the sights and sounds of New York, one of the clearest memories I have was being introduced to the Horn and Hardart Automat in Manhattan. I now wonder how long the turkey actually stayed in the Horn and Hardart windows of the Automat. And I was worried about letting the turkey stay out on our counter for 30 minutes! I’d rather not think about that now. Some things go out of style (the Automat) but not Beth El. We are here and we are flourishing. See ya’ there!

Yoga Shalom will resume Wednesday, October 12th at 10:00am. Yoga Shalom is for everyone, regardless of their level of yoga experience or physical abilities. It will help you relax your body, calm your mind, strengthen your body, enhance your flexibility, and nurture your spirit. It can be practiced on a mat or in a chair. Yoga Shalom is a spiritual and physical journey, guided by a sequence of traditional Hebrew morning prayers and beautiful music with Cantor Lisa Levine, choreographed to yoga postures, led via DVD by Lisa Levine and Carol Krucoff. Contact Barbara Hood, barbarahood394@gmail.com for any questions about Yoga Shalom.

After yoga and a short break, at 11:30am, Gail Greenfield will present a course in Jewish Meditation, followed by a period of meditation. You are welcomed to attend both or either of these offerings. These are offered in a partnership with Beth El Sisterhood and Beth El Adult Education at no charge. Contact Gail at gailsgreenfield@gmail.com with any questions about the meditation program and to RSVP
