THE PATH OF VULNERABILITY
WITHOUT THE WEIGHT OF SHAME
by Reverend Tom Capo
Sunday, March 5
11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Live in the sanctuary or Livestream on our YouTube channel
Shame is an unpleasant self-conscious emotion often associated with negative self-evaluation; motivation to quit; and feelings of pain, exposure, distrust, powerlessness, and worthlessness. The main message of Shame is "I am Bad or Wrong". It can be a challenging dance to be more vulnerable without letting Shame sneak in.

ALHAMBRA AMPED
Sunday, March 5
1:00 PM
The electric strings ensemble called "Alhambra Amped" will be playing classic rock favorites for the congregation this Sunday. These musicians are members of Alhambra Orchestra (which rehearses in the UUCM sanctuary on Wednesday evenings) who play serious classical music with the orchestra, but of course they grew up hearing popular songs and they like to rock out now and then. So they have fun playing arrangements of favorite popular music on amplified electric instruments. Come and enjoy tunes by the Beatles, Beach Boys, and more." Fundraiser for UU Miami, DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Bring family, friends, neighbors, all ages welcome

DOSING YOUR PAIN,
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ALL IN WITH PAIN
Rev. Tom
We all have pain. Sometimes pain feels too big to manage, especially trauma-based pain. How do we manage it? Perhaps we could dose it. UU Miami Choir will be performing.

WHAT BRINGS YOU CLOSER TO YOUR VALUES? BEING VULNERABLE WITH ONE ANOTHER?
Rev. Tom
Rev. Tom’s colleague and friend Reverend Janne Eller-Isaacs would say every Sunday “your gift and your wounds are welcome here” to cultivate a sense that we can bring our vulnerability to church - we don’t have to slip away during the hard times. Perhaps being vulnerable with one another would strengthen our community connections and our values.

PARENTS & CAREGIVERS AS SEXUALITY EDUCATORS
Building Healthy Boundaries
Sunday March 5
2:00 pm
Emerson Lounge
Parents and caregivers are rightfully concerned about their children’s exposure to unwanted touching or sex. Adults cannot control the sexual opportunities, risks, or coercion their children will encounter. However, parents and caregivers can be role models for self-care and mutual respect. And they can explicitly teach children their rights, their responsibilities, and interpersonal skills related to sexual consent. This session supports parents and caregivers to be positive influences who help their children and youth develop appropriate sexual boundaries and respect those of others.
