MacArthur Boulevard Bridge Deck Pour

WHAT

Crews are expected to pour the concrete deck for the new section of bridge over MacArthur Boulevard.

This work will require a full closure of eastbound and westbound MacArthur under the freeway as well as the northbound and southbound loop on- ramps. The off-ramps and the straight on-ramps will remain open.

WHEN

MacArthur will be closed in both directions for one night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning as early as Friday, Sept. 29.  

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

WHERE

Contractors are expected to install piles at the Edinger Avenue Bridge as they begin to reconstruct the bridge following July's barrier demolition. This work will require closing the inside lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., intermittently over the next two weeks.

Retaining Walls

Crews are expected to pour concrete for a retaining wall that is being constructed along northbound SR-55 between the Edinger Avenue on-ramp and Edinger Avenue. This work will occur during the day, intermittently over the next several weeks.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
