Greetings From Sunny Wales!
Seriously, our small group from the shop has been here 6 days so far and not a drop of rain! And the scenery is so beautiful!

We came here to attend this wool festival -
But more about that later.

Because

This Saturday, April 30th, is Support Your Local Yarn Shop Day!
This year, more companies and designers have jumped on the bandwagon and are offering free patterns with the in-shop purchase of the full-priced yarn to make the offered pattern. Download codes for your free pattern(s) will be handed out when you make your purchase and the codes are good for a limited time only.

As usual, Casapinka leads the way with her
Ric-Rac Shawl, a 2 color boomerang-shaped shawl that requires 800 yards of fingering weight yarn (400 yards of each color) and a US size 6 needle. The yarn can be variegated, speckled, solid, however you like it, and it doesn't need a lot of contrast.

Blue Sky Fibers is offering any pattern in their large catalog with the full-price purchase of a Blue Sky Fibers yarn to make the pattern.

Here are just two examples of available patterns; more can be seen on their website and on Ravelry.com

Jessica Ays of doublethestitches.com is offering her brand new pattern, Coterie Shawl.

Coterie is a crescent-shaped shawl, knit from the bottom up. The shawl begins with an elegant lace pattern, interspersed with soothing stockinette sections and reverse stockinette lines. The shawl shaping is created using simple short rows and easy decreases on a background of garter stitch.

The shawl requires approximately 860 yards of fingering weight yarn and a US size 5 circular needle in a long length.

Be certain to check your email for another newsletter later this week telling you about the in-shop special we will be running on Saturday!

Now, if you are interested, some pictures from the festival and our "business trip" to Wales...

Yes, that is Isabell Kraemer!
