Did you know that St. Tammany Parish has one of the largest concentrations of cancer diagnoses in the entire state? Cancer takes an unimaginable toll on an individual - mentally, physically, emotionally - but also financially.

This is especially the case right now, with gas prices remaining so high. For many patients at St. Tammany Cancer Center, they do not live in the immediate vicinity of the cancer center, making their financial burden even greater as they seek the treatment they need to live.

This Giving Tuesday, we are calling on you to support them.

Giving Tuesday is a day of giving where communities around the globe donate to the nonprofit/charity of their choice on the Tuesday following Black Friday. Your support of St. Tammany Hospital Foundation for this Giving Tuesday will provide gas cards to any patient who qualifies to help ease the financial burden they are facing.

A simple gift of just $25 will provide a gas card to a patient in need. $50 will fill their tank. The cancer center is currently giving 80-90 cards each month, and that number is almost certain to increase.

Help St. Tammany Hospital Foundation remove this barrier to care as we begin the holiday season. Your simple gift will make things just a bit easier for a patient in our community.

Don't wait - make your gift now!

Thank you for your support this Giving Tuesday! For more information, contact Doug Walker at 985-898-4174.
Honor Loved ones at Angels of Light
Please join us for this year's Angels of Light ceremony in support of St. Tammany Health System Hospice on Thursday, December 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of St. Tammany Health System's main campus.

The Hospice Tree for Life is a long-standing tradition of St. Tammany Health System Hospice. Each year at the Angels of Light event, the Tree for Life is lighted in a beautiful holiday ceremony. In addition, the tree is decorated with Tribute Angels. Each angel represents a special person who is being honored or memorialized by a friend or family member. Every light on the Tree for Life symbolizes the extraordinary care and comfort that is provided to all hospice patients.

After more than 30 years of Angels of Light supporting the St. Tammany Health System Hospice program, the 2022 Hospice Tree for Life is dedicated in honor of the selfless caregivers at St. Tammany Health System Hospice.

Proceeds from Angels of Light benefit St. Tammany Health System Hospice. This hospice program provides palliative and supportive care to terminally ill patients and their families in the home through an interdisciplinary team that addresses physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Hospice unites a team of professionals, physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, clergy and trained volunteers in a compassionate alternative to traditional care. These services are available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

Thankful for our Patients
The season of gratitude was in full swing at St. Tammany Cancer Center - A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center last week as over 90 families picked up Thanksgiving boxes which included the makings for a traditional holiday meal, as well as a Winn-Dixie gift card, thanks to a generous group effort by Winn-Dixie, the Northshore Food Bank and donors to St. Tammany Hospital Foundation. These boxes were made available to the families of patients who are eligible for the cancer center's Therapeutic Food Pantry which provides nutrition to those in active treatment who are experiencing food insecurity.

The Foundation is grateful to our community partners and donors who made this special event possible and the patients and families who choose St. Tammany Health System for their care.

Want to help? The Foundation is currently accepting donations in support of the Christmas meal boxes for next month. Donate below or call Emily Revere at 985-898-4110 for more information.

THE Gala
St. Tammany Hospital Foundation, HUB International, St. Tammany Cancer Center - A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center and its partners would like to extend a warm thank you to the many supporters of this year's THE Gala: Step into your Imagination held on Thursday, October 13.

This year's Wonka-themed soiree raised a record-setting $212,000 in support of the patients and families at the cancer center. The support received from our sponsors, attendees, in-kind supporters, and volunteers is truly outstanding. Funds raised from THE Gala will go on to support the patient-centric programs and services of our cancer center, including the Therapeutic Food Pantry, Transportation Assistance Program, healing arts, integrative oncology and so much more.

Thank you for your most generous support of cancer patients in our community!
NFL Players Association Celebrity Waiter Tailgate Soiree
Thank you to everyone who sponsored and support the inaugural Celebrity Waiter Tailgate Soiree hosted by the New Orleans Chapter of the NFL Players Association on Thursday, October 20 at the Lake Pontchartrain Maritime Museum.

Thanks to support of the NFLPA and the generosity of so many who donated and attended the event, we were able to bring in over $20,000 in support of patient services at St. Tammany Cancer Center - A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center!
Monster Mash
The 34th Annual Monster Mash presented by Metairie Bank Northshore was held on Saturday, October 22 at Bogue Falaya Park in Covington. More than 3,500 individuals enjoyed a SPOOKtacular day in the park to support the STHS Parenting Center, raising nearly $85,000 to support its programs and services.

Proceeds from the Mash support the mission of the Parenting Center, to promote confidence and competence in parenting, encourage optimal child development for their children, and enhance the well-being of the family as a whole. The Parenting Center offers parenting classes, parent coaching, interactive classes, a center for play and learning, support groups, referrals, child safety education, and community outreach services. Most services are offered at little or no cost to the community.

Thank you to the sponsors, attendees, and supporters who made the 34th Monster Mash such a success in support of families in our community!
UNITED with our Community!
St. Tammany Health System and St. Tammany Hospital Foundation's second annual UNITED in Pink breast cancer awareness campaign was a great success thanks to generous businesses and donors in our community.

The campaign, which ran throughout October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raised more than $32,000 in support of St. Tammany Health System's education, screening and early detection initiatives, as well as patient care at St. Tammany Cancer Center - A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center.

Once again, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office led the pack of supporters with their UNITED in Pink themed Pink Tahoe. A big hit with the community, donors came out to see the vehicle at numerous local businesses and restaurants making a small donation to sign the vehicle which was covered with names and inspiring messages of support and hope by the end of the month.

The Foundation would like to say "THANK YOU" to the many businesses and organizations who hosted Give Back events and fundraisers during October. To see a list of these amazing Pink Partners, visit www.StTammanyUnited.org.
