Why Hot Pink Luminous Opera?

Welcome Back to Another BobBlast!
What a glorious color! Have you seen what this color can do? 

This week's BobBlast is an answer to a frequently asked question about one of my favorite colors - Luminous Opera... that hot, fluorescent, shocking pink! You ask about its bad reputation - that the color might fade away eventually. No worries!

Watch the video: I admire these Holbein Luminescent colors for their versatility when mixed into other colors - such as Marigold or Ultramarine Blue. Opera mixed with Ultramarine Deep makes my favorite Periwinkle color. Luminous Opera mixed with Marigold or Green makes a beautiful neutral. When mixed into other colors, the possibility of Luminous Opera fading is not an issue for me. 

Besides, I finish the artwork with a final coat of UV varnish, helping the colors' permanency. Actually, I really don't worry that much about it - I use Opera everywhere... on top of a "dried" painting as an overall tint, as well as mixed into other colors - as you can see on the video.

Straight out of the tube, this fluorescent day-glow Opera is shocking pink at first. So it’s great fun to use as is. By itself, a little goes a long way! Luminous Opera becomes the WOW - an instant focal point!

You get the idea… Now that you can see what you can do, go ahead and shock yourself!
