We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper at both the 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. services. As worshipers enter the Sanctuary or Chapel, the ushers will distribute individually prepackaged Communion elements to them. Those worshiping with us online at 10:00 a.m. are invited to have bread and juice on hand as we share in this meal from wherever we are.

In-Person Guidelines
For those choosing to worship with us in person, masks and social distancing are required for those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19. For those who have received the COVID vaccine, the wearing of masks is optional.

The front section of the Sanctuary is for those required to or choosing to wear masks, with socially distant seating by households. The remainder of the Sanctuary is open seating, with masks optional.

We are not checking vaccination status, but by coming on site you certify that (a) you do not currently have COVID-19; (b) you are not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms; (c) you have no reason to quarantine; and (d) you will wear a mask and practice social distancing if you are not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Doors open a half hour before each service, and there is no congregational singing.

The annual School Supply Drive hosted by Women at Fourth continues to collect supplies (via Amazon wish lists) for Chicago Light’s Dance Academy, Summer Day, and Tutoring programs through this week.

Supply collection for the Urban Farm will continue through August.

This Friday our Music by the Fountain outdoor concert series continues with a performance by two Music by the Fountain favorites, the Chicago cabaret duo Beckie Menzie and Tom Michael.

Throughout the summer you are invited to join us in person in the Michigan Avenue courtyard for these Friday concerts, which begin at 12:10 p.m.

For those who prefer to enjoy our concerts online, we are not livestreaming the outdoor concerts but invite you to watch the summer 2020 performance by Menzie and Michael.
Looking ahead to a new school year, the Fourth Church Day School has openings in its Together We Play program (for those 12–30 months) as well as its preschool classes for those ages 2–5.

Donations of clean, gently used adult shoes and clothing can again be dropped off for the Chicago Lights Social Service Center.

Particularly needed are men’s laced shoes in sizes 7-1/2 and up that are good for walking as well as clothing items in sizes L, XL, XXL, and XXXL. (We are not accepting children’s clothing, household supplies, or used underwear or used socks at this time.)

Donations can be dropped off inside the entrance at 126 E. Chestnut on Sundays through Fridays (not Saturdays) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Please do not leave any donations on the church steps. Upon arrival, simply ring the receptionist bell to be buzzed in and directed to where to leave the donations. Masks are required while on campus.


For those interested in volunteering with the Social Service Center, we are looking for individuals to serve with the Good Neighbors Street Outreach program, which takes food and supplies to people in the neighborhood who are experiencing homelessness.

The Nominating Committee would appreciate your help identifying candidates for positions opening in 2022 for Elder, Deacon, Trustee, and Nominating Committee as well as the Chicago Lights Board.

The Chicago Lights Urban Farm invites you to stop by their Farmstand this Friday afternoon (or any Friday afternoon through October!) for your fresh produce.

Each purchase supports Chicago Lights job-training programs, as students and young adults gain job skills through urban farming.
