Nourishing Our Spirits

Sunday Service - February 23, 2025

What Does Inclusion Require of Us?

Rev. Lee Anne Washington

From a purely anthropocentric point of view, there are as many answers to that question as there are dimensions to human expression. Join us on Sunday as Rev. Lee Anne explores some religious and philosophical sources of our understanding of the concept of inclusion, relates them to our first and third principles, and suggests some ways that we can be more inclusive at UUCNH.

During the duration of our OWL program, all children should report directly to their respective classrooms.

Jesus Discussion Group - This Sunday

Sunday February, the 23rd, from noon to 1:15 PM on Zoom and at church (upstairs, follow the signs). Four gospels means four views of who Jesus was. Or does it? We’ll discuss the complexities in this session.  See Tony Palermo for details. [Postponed from last month.]

Please join us for Meditation group. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 7 to 8 pm. No experience required just a willingness to learn and breathe. Contact meditation@uucnh.org for any questions.

Celebrating Life

PIIN Gala - Sue Broughton Honored

This past weekend PIIN had its 25th Anniversary Gala and fundraising event. We had 14 people from UUCNH in attendance. Of special note, Sue Broughton received a special award as Champion of Justice for her 25 years of outstanding leadership and service to PIIN. She was quite surprised. This Sunday, in Friendship Hall to continue honoring her, we will have a table with some of the PIIN banquet booklets that she has created over the years along the plaque she received.

Refugee Resettlement Engagement

Thank you to everyone who contributed time and purchased household items for the refugee families. Unfortunately, the JFCS program is not placing additional families at this time. One way we can continue to show support is by purchasing items from JFCS wish lists. Community members can purchase items that will be shipped directly to the JFCS office and then delivered to refugee families. (If you purchase an item on the wish list, please let us know!). We are also exploring ways in which we might engage directly with families and will share this information as it becomes available. Please reach out to allysonzadnik@uucnh.org with questions.

Food Pantry Donations

UUCNH has a food pantry for donations to North Hills Community Outreach located in friendship hall. Please consider donating non-perishable food items, hygiene and cleaning supplies.

Did you forget your items? No problem... you can buy a grocery card and donate it.
