City Operations
There will be a Special City Council meeting at 6:30pm on Monday, December 13 followed by the Council Committee of the Whole meeting in person at City Hall at 6:45pm. Holiday Food Drive December 11
Serving households in need, the Cleveland Heights Police Department is hosting its second Food Drive at Zagara’s Marketplace from 2 to 5pm on Saturday, December 11. Donations of non-perishables and household products are needed for the Community Pantry at Start Right Church.
 
Applications Accepted for City Council Vacancy
Cleveland Heights City Council is seeking applications from residents interested in applying for the Council vacancy that will occur in January when Kahlil Seren takes office as the City’s first elected mayor. Access Cleveland Heights
The official Access Cleveland Heights app allows residents to submit service requests directly to the City where it will be correctly routed to the appropriate department. Users are able to track their request all the way through completion right from their mobile phone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Download the app from the Apple Store for iPhones and from Google Play for Android phones.
 
Meet Your Police on December 16
Residents have the opportunity to interact with a ranking member of the Cleveland Heights Police Department on the first and third Thursday of every month from 6 to 8pm at the Cleveland Heights Police Academy (2595 Noble Road). Visit the website for details.
COVID-19
Vaccine Clinic for Children 5-18 on December 13
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District and the MetroHealth System are hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children 5-18 years of age on Monday, December 13 at Wiley Campus (2181 Miramar Blvd) from 2 to 6pm. Registration is required by calling 440-592-6843. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the vaccine clinic. The free Pfizer vaccine, which is approved for anyone 5 years of age and older, will be administered. Recipients will be automatically scheduled for their second dose appointment on January 4, 2022 once they receive their first dose.

Cleveland Water Discount Program
For residents who have fallen behind on their water and sewer payments, Cleveland Water offers two discount programs that assist income-eligible customers with the cost of their water bill: the Homestead Discount and the Water Affordability Program. There are also services available free-of-charge for income eligible Cuyahoga County residents.
 
Coventry Village Holiday Festival December 11
Jingle Bell Rock and Shop returns to the Grog Shop and B-Side Liquor Lounge on Coventry Road from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, December 11 featuring more than 30 local craft and artisan vendors. Lake Erie Ink hosts a story writing and button-making session from 11am to 4:30pm. Santa makes an appearance for photos, arts and crafts sessions take place, and a lantern festival lights up the evening culminating in an ugly sweater bar crawl. The event is free to attend. Cedar Lee Holiday Events December 11
The Cedar Lee Theatre is featuring the holiday classic, “The Polar Express,” at 11am on Saturday, December 11; admission is only $3. The Bottlehouse Brewery (2050 Lee Road) is hosting “Pint-Sized: A Holiday Art and Crafts Show” featuring local artists and makers of handcrafted goods from noon to 5pm on December 11. And making the season even brighter, Mojo World Eats and Drinks (2196 Lee Road) now features covered, heated outdoor seating. Visit their website for more information about the Cedar Lee District.
 
Sock Drive at Rudy’s Pub
Rudy’s Pub (2191 Lee Road) is collecting new socks for those in need. Clean, warm and dry socks support the assistance efforts of area shelters. The Sock Drive continues until December 18.
