Good News
Principal Patrick Hardy provided the board with the good news report for Hinsdale South, which you can access by visiting

good news report for Hinsdale Central, Principal Bill Walsh, athletic director Dan Jones and several of the school's coaches recognized the accomplishments that individual athletes and teams amassed during the fall season.
Superintendent’s Report

Board - New Business
During the portion of the meeting dedicated to new business, the board members reviewed and discussed the following documents:
As part of their conversation, they identified revisions to these documents that they will review and vote to approve during their meeting on Dec. 15.
The board members also discussed potential changes to policies 2:110 (Qualifications, Term, and Duties of Board Officers) and 2:150 (Committees).They decided not to make edits to either policy at this time. However, Board President Erik Held stated that his participation in committee meetings will be limited to the committees he currently serves on, or to situations where committee chairs ask him to take part in a session or discussion.
Committee Reports
Members of the Parent-Teacher Advisory Committee, HR Committee, Policy Committee, Finance Committee, and Facilities and Special Committee for Community Engagement with Construction provided the board with reports from their recent meetings. You can access those reports via the links below.

Action Items
The board took the following action during the meeting:
- Awarded bid packages 90 (Demolition), 91 (Masonry), 92 (General Trades), 93 (Drywall and Rough Carpentry), 94 (Acoustical Ceilings), 95 (Floor Prep, Resilient Flooring, Carpet), 96 (Painting and Coatings) and 99 (Electrical) for Phase 4, Bid Period 5.
- Rejected the bids that were received for bid packages 97 (Fire Suppression Systems) and 98 (HVAC and Temperature Controls).

Awarded bid 22-011 (Asbestos Work).

Approved a request from Hinsdale Central alumni to rename the school's gymnastics gym after former coach Neil J. Krupicka.

Approved resolution 23.09 (Estimating the Aggregate Levy for the Year 2022). Per the Truth in Taxation law, a public hearing will be held during the board meeting on Dec. 15.

Approved an agreement with The Stepping Stones Group to provide specialized nursing services.

Approved an intergovernmental agreement with Community High School District 99 for the reimbursement of nursing services.
Board President's Report
Board President Erik Held talked about some of the things the district did to celebrate Veterans Day, and thanked veterans for their service. He mentioned that there are previously approved closed session meeting minutes that have been amended, and shared that the revised versions of those minutes will be brought back to the board for review and a vote on their approval. He also wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and expressed his appreciation for the faculty, staff, administration, other members of the board and community.
Future Agenda Items
During the portion of the meeting dedicated to the discussion of future agenda items, there was a request to review costs related to the work of the strategic plan. Those costs will be shared with the Finance Committee first, and then presented to the board for review and discussion.
Staffing for the 2023-24 School Year
The board had a preliminary discussion about staffing for the 2023-24 school year that included a conversation about the framework that will be used to guide the staffing process.The final draft of the framework will be presented to the board for review and a vote on its approval on Dec. 15.

FOIA Requests
The board received information about the FOIA requests that have been processed since its last regular action meeting. This information included the names or titles of the individuals and departments who helped respond to the requests, a summary of the records that were requested and who asked for them, and trend data about the number of requests that have been processed and the legal fees the district has incurred in responding to them.
Audience Communication
Members of the public spoke about the following topics during the two opportunities they had to give audience communication:
- The performance of the superintendent and extension of her contract.
- The decision by a majority of the board not to approve a member's request to add a topic to the closed session held that evening.
- The retention of public records, including text messages.
- The district's finances.
- Early release Wednesdays.
- Summer school.
- The new Algebra and Geometry Honors course.
- The board protocols.
- The way that people who are giving audience communication are seen on camera during the meeting.
