fourHousing Proposal Information Sessions
First One: This Sunday, April 15 at 12:30 p.m.
In the fall of 2016, the Session and Trustees formed a committee to look into the congregation's legacy of providing--throughout its history--housing for the senior pastor of Fourth Church.

After extensive research, that committee recommended to the boards that the best, lowest-cost option for the church to continue that legacy would be to purchase a new manse.

The boards endorsed that recommendation last weekend and are now bringing it to the congregation for its vote.

A letter outlining the recommendation was emailed to Fourth Church members this past week and was followed by a mailing to members that included the complete housing proposal.

The recommendation will be voted on by members at the congregational meeting called for Sunday, May 6 at 12:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Prior to that, there will be two information sessions hosted by the Senior Pastor Housing Committee to provide opportunity to ask any questions not answered by the proposal. The first of those will be this Sunday, April 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the Bumpus Room; the second will be on Sunday, April 22 at 12:15 p.m. Members who are unable to attend either session and still have questions are invited to email them to the committee

sixCaring for God's Creation
Marking Earth Sunday on April 22
Next Sunday, April 22, is Earth Sunday, a day when the Care of Creation Committee calls us to hold in prayer God's amazing creation and to recommit ourselves to the good stewardship of that life-giving gift.

As part of that commitment, the committee invites you to join them for a screening and discussion of This Changes Everything, a documentary that presents portraits of communities on the front lines of climate change, laying out a hopeful path for transforming systems causing climate change into something better.

There will also be opportunity to drop off during that morning's Coffee Hour used tennis shoes for recycling into materials for playground surfaces.

A Gift from the Congregation
This Sunday during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services of worship our fourth graders will be receiving Bibles from the congregation. This is but one of the ways we live out our baptismal pledge to support the children and youth of the church. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue on their faith journey.

snacksNeeded: 10,000 Snacks
Serving through Fourth Church Meals Ministry
Fourth Church Meals Ministry needs your help!

Every two months they use 10,000 individually packaged snack items in filling bag lunches for guests of our Meals Ministry programs.

Thus they have set a goal of collecting a two-month supply by Mother's Day in order to ensure they have plenty on hand to start the summer.

Particularly needed are single servings of granola bars, chips, pretzels, fruit cups, and applesauce. Donations (labeled "Meals Ministry") can be dropped off at the reception desk, and information is also available on Sunday mornings during Coffee Hour.

Thank you for helping to feed our neighbors in need!
