PCC Board Transitions
Our Coalition work couldn't advance without the tireless dedication and efforts of countless members of our board, committees, and volunteer ranks. This summer, the PCC board saw more changes than years past, due to a growing commitment to diversify leadership and recover from a pandemic recruitment lull. We are grateful for the generous energy and efforts of every board member, but we make special note to Paul LeFrancois and Jim Cox, who served for countless years on the PCC board. Read more here:
In addition, Katie Zimmerman of Charleston Moves rolled off after 2 terms. Katie was a valuable force as part of the Executive Committee and helped shepherd the organization into greater mission relevancy. She remains a tireless advocate for safe and accessible mobility in Charleston County.
Please welcome PCC's 4 new board members!
Kelly Willenberg of Greenville is the owner of Ology of Kelly, a podcasting/training company, and Kelly Willenberg and Associates, a global healthcare compliance company. Kelly’s husband was tragically killed in a hit and run cycling crash involving a distracted driver. Kelly’s goal is to help every cyclist have safer streets so their families do not have to go through what her family has endured since Dale’s death.
Eshana Young-Pierre of Columbia is currently the Marketing and Communications Manager for Blue Bike SC, Columbia's all e-bike bike share, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield. She has been in the creative industry for 13 years as a Graphic Designer and Marketing professional and brings those skills to PCC's Marketing Committee.
Mary McGowan of Greenville is a Speech-Language Pathologist for Greenville County Schools and a full time bike commuter in Greenville, SC. She currently serves as the board chair of Bike Walk Greenville and is passionate about building safer and more accessible infrastructure for active transportation.
Ernie James of Florence is the Director of Employee Relations in the Consumer Sector, for Sonoco. He is also a graduate of the University of Rochester Simon Business School. Ernie sees bicycling as a great means for building communities and brings to PCC years of corporate management and board leadership experience.
