School is starting up again and fall tennis programs are back! Beginning the week of September 11, youth clinics for all ages and abilities begin indoors at Middlebury Indoor Tennis (MIT). Fall Schedule

Tiger Tennis is also back! This popular introductory level tennis program is for middle and high school students and begins the week of September 18. There is no charge to participate, thanks to sponsorship by the Addison Community Athletics Foundation. Pre-registration is required for this outdoor program. Tiger Tennis

Mixed Doubles
Wednesday evening has been popular with our adult mixed doubles players. We are making some adjustments to better accommodate interested players:
  • 5-6:30 pm: 3.0-3.5 level mixed doubles
  • 6:30-8 pm: 3.5-4.0 level mixed doubles
Pre-registration is required on a weekly basis. Email Franz Collas if you'd like to be added to either of the rosters for these sessions. Once added, you will need to RSVP to the weekly invitation and then will receive a confirmation.
Facility Updates
What's up with the bumpy railings?? We've painted the outdoor railings with a special paint that will hold up in cold weather and that will provide a better grip when things are slippery. We've also repainted the indoor stair railings and upstairs common lounge area. Kitchen painting is next! Thank you for helping to keep these spaces clean and in good condition!
Membership Rates
Middlebury Indoor Tennis has not increased membership rates for more than 10 years. After careful consideration, the board has decided to make some modest adjustments. Effective October 1, 2023, members will see their monthly rates increase by approximately $5/person. Member rates for lessons and clinics, and basic court fees for non-members remain unchanged. New Rates
Junior Players
Several of our junior players participated in USTA sanctioned leagues and tournaments this past summer. This was a wonderful opportunity to gain match play experience and to hone players' competitive edge. Congratulations to our 18 and under and 14 and under players, and to those who joined in for non-USTA events as well!
Stay Home?

Our tennis community has continued to be thoughtful and considerate about not sharing illnesses. As fall approaches and colds and COVID begin to circulate, please stay home if you are sick. Keeping us all in good health means our club can remain a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. Thank you for doing your part!
Tennis Pro's Corner
Our club was well-represented in the fan base at the Canadian Open in Montreal during early August. The top ten women in the world were easily viewed during practices and matches. Check out this video of Aryna Sabalenka practicing a tweener! Next year it's the men in Montreal...will we see Rafa??
