What's up FRC Family?

As we gear up for an exciting season ahead, we’re just two weeks away from our first district event at Glen Allen! Teams are finalizing their robots, strategizing their game plans, and preparing for the thrill of competition. This event marks a significant milestone in our journey, bringing together passionate students, mentors, and supporters from across the region.

In this edition, we’ll share important updates, tips for event preparation, insights, and more.

Let’s rally together to make this season unforgettable!

ICYMI: Team Updates

The game manual will be regularly updated as teams ask questions and FIRST finds areas that are lacking. Be sure you check in often to catch the latest updates. There have been 3 updates so far this month. There are sure to be more.

  • Playoff Communications have been added to the Game & Season Page.
  • Updated rules:
  • G210: *Don't expect to gain by doing others harm. This rule requires an intentional act with limited or no opportunity for the team being acted on to avoid penalty such as: C "forcing an opponent ROBOT to CONTROL more than 1 of each SCORING ELEMENT and violate G409.
  • Several updates were made to section 8.7 Control, Command & Signals Systems.

Read the full breakdown in the Combined Team Update.

Combined Team Update

Week 0 Festivities

This year, there are two different Week 0 experiences taking place across our district. Due to some HQ limitations, there won't be a full field or FMS this year. Teams will be able to practice their autonomous code, simulate matches, and share in some practice matches as well. Teams are also encouraged to attend to get their robots pre-inspected as well. These pre-inspections are not official, but they will help teams gauge how well their robots meet the game specs.

As we look ahead, I know some challenges lie before us. The seas may not always be smooth, but overcoming the waves is part of the journey. Together, we have the strength and resilience to navigate whatever comes our way. Let’s embrace these challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. As we DIVE deeper, remember to come up for air.

Peace and Blessings
