Let’s all get to know Amelia better.
This Sunday in Valentine Hall.
This Sunday between the services, you’re invited to a reception welcoming our new Associate Rector, Amelia Arthur.
The reception will feature beverages and an awesome food spread (ham biscuits, brownies, cookies, cheese straws, fruit, scones, and other sweet and savory St. James's favorites) but most importantly, it’ll be a chance to spend some informal time with Amelia and start to get to know her better.
We’re encouraging folks to not congregate on the front steps after the 9 am service so we can devote as much time as possible to this lovely event in Valentine Hall.
Next Sunday, May 1, Amelia will be sharing her spiritual journey with us as part of our Adult Formation. You won’t want to miss that either. Look for details in next week’s social media and eChimes.

The Spring Picnic: 26 Acres of Fun
On Sunday, May 15th, the beautiful riverside property known as Rock Bottom will be buzzing with hundreds of St. James’sers gathering under the warm Spring sun to celebrate everything great about our church.
There will be live Bluegrass music from Oak Lane, fried chicken from Lee’s, grilled burgers and dogs, a Hardywood beer truck and games for the kids (even the grown up ones).
Plus we'll have the Senior Blessing and the Blessing for Rising Middle School students.
But most importantly, this is a chance for all of us to be together and be ourselves again. No Zoom. No masks. And every reason to be here.
To make sure we have all the food we need, we’re asking everyone to register here.
We’ll also be asking for a donation of $5 per person or $15 for a family to be paid on the day of the event. All proceeds will go to St. James’s Outreach ministries
So mark your calendar. Dig out your favorite shorts. And get ready for the party of the year.

We’ll be selling them this Sunday between the services in Valentine Hall. Adults: $30, Kids: $25. Bring cash or a check.

Memorial Concert Mass of the Children ( by John Rutter)
Monday, May 30 at 7 pm in the St. James’s sanctuary
One of the great traditions at St. James’s is to remember our veterans on Memorial Day. This year’s Memorial Concert Mass of the Children promises to be especially moving, as we’ll be including our Children’s Choirs as well as other St. James’s Choirs to bring an extra level of beauty and pathos to the already moving music. The performance will also include members of the Richmond Symphony.
As is our custom, names of veterans past and present will be printed in the program.
Click here for all the information.

Our music calendar is full.
Make sure the events are
on your calendar too.
