Souper Bowl Sunday!
Pastors on Their Call to Ministry
You're Invited to Lunch!
columnSouper Bowl Sunday!
Score a Victory over Hunger

You can help our youth score a victory in this weekend's Souper Bowl of Caring!

During Coffee Hour this Sunday, the youth will be collecting cans of soup and other nonperishable food items as well as monetary contributions for the Souper Bowl of Caring--a national grassroots, faith-based campaign against hunger.

All proceeds collected by our youth will support our Fourth Church Meals Ministry bag lunch and Sunday and Monday Night Suppers as well as the food pantry of our Chicago Lights Elam Davies Social Service Center.

So come to church this Sunday ready to fill the youth's large soup pots with canned goods and contributions that will help us tackle hunger in our community!

Dialogue with Judy Watt and Rocky Supinger
Judy Watt and Rocky Supinger will be kicking off a special adult education series this Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m.

Join them in Borwell Dining Room as they share in a time of informal dialogue, during which they will talk about their call to ministry and Christian discipleship. They will each discuss their journey of faith and how they found themselves in ministry.

Through their reflections on Christian discipleship in the contemporary church, we will together learn where and how discipleship takes root and blossoms at Fourth Church.

An Invitation to Daily Reflection
The season of Lent calls Christians to embrace the faith journey by reflecting upon and deepening their relationship with God and by acting upon their Christian beliefs. During this season, we are invited to thoughtfully take up the gifts of faith--worship, study, prayer, and service--in preparation for Holy Week and Christ's journey to the cross.

As a resource for such Lenten reflections and personal prayer, we will be making available daily Lenten devotions, written by Fourth Church members and staff, beginning Ash Wednesday, February 14.

To receive the Lenten devotions by email (if you are not already receiving our devotions), sign up at www.bit.ly/fpcdevotions (send email addresses to devotions@fourthchurch.org).

You will also be able to read and share the devotions daily on Facebook and via Twitter (@FourthChicago).

Devotions will be posted online as well and, starting February 14, will be available in printed booklets in the church literature racks.
