RNC Statement on September Consumer Price Index | Consumer price increases have been at or above 5% for 17 straight months, and real average hourly earnings fell 3% since last year, marking the 18th month in a row in which inflation has outpaced wages. |
WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the September Consumer Price Index:
"While Americans are hurting with no relief in sight, Biden Democrats continue to lie about their reckless policies that have failed families. Wages are down, prices are up, and Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. Americans know a Republican vote in November is a vote for lower prices and a strong economy."
|
Background:
-
September’s Consumer Price Index soared by 8.2 percent compared to last year, exceeding economists’ expectations and remaining at a near 40-year high.
-
Core consumer prices – excluding food and energy – rose 6.6 percent compared to last year, a new 40-year high.
-
Real average hourly earnings fell 3 percent since last year, marking the 18th month in a row under Biden in which inflation has outpaced wages.
-
Real wages have fallen every month since Biden and Democrats passed their wasteful $1.9 trillion “stimulus.”
-
In Arizona, Mark Kelly voted for Biden's $1.9 trillion "stimulus" - enabling Biden's careless agenda.
- Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock supported Biden's reckless "stimulus package," - boosting inflation.
-
Tim Ryan in Ohio called this the "economy of the future" and has voted 100% in line with the failed Biden agenda that created this crisis.
-
Nevadans have Catherine Cortez Masto to thank for gas prices among the highest in the nation and the skyrocketing inflation the Biden administration brushed off for over a year.
-
Biden's biggest fanboys, Wisconsin Democrat Mandela Barnes and Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman, both cheered on Biden's disastrous economic agenda that has made life worse for Americans.

Law Enforcement Backs Republican Candidates |
As Democrats push disastrous soft-on-crime policies, law enforcement officers are overwhelmingly supporting law-and-order Republican candidates.
-
Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker has been endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia, and over 100 sheriffs across Georgia.
-
New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc is endorsed by the Hampton Police Chief and the New England Police Benevolent Association.
-
Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters is endorsed by Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, the National Border Patrol Council, and the Arizona Police Association.
-
Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz is endorsed by the Pennsylvania State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, the Pennsylvania State Troopers Union , and the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police.
-
Meanwhile, 13 Pennsylvania sheriffs called out his Democrat opponent John Fetterman for his soft-on-crime record.
-
North Carolina Senate candidate Ted Budd is endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council, as well as the North Carolina Troopers Association, the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association, and the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police, which are the three largest law enforcement organizations in the state.
-
Sen. Ron Johnson has been endorsed by a bipartisan majority of Wisconsin sheriffs – 51 in total.
-
Johnson has also been endorsed by the Kenosha Professional Police Association Board, the Milwaukee Police Association, and the National Border Patrol Council.
-
Democrat Mandela Barnes has resorted to making up police endorsements.
-
Nevada Senate candidate Adam Laxalt gained an endorsement from the Public Safety Alliance of Nevada after Democrat Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto lost their endorsement.
-
Laxalt also has the endorsement of the National Association of Police Organizations, the Las Vegas Police Protective Association, the Nevada Fraternal Order of Police, and the National Border Patrol Council.
-
With these endorsements, Adam Laxalt has 95% of law enforcement in the state of Nevada behind him.
-
Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance has received an endorsement from the Ohio Fraternal Order Of Police.
- In stark contrast to Republican candidates, Senate Democrat candidates are fighting for criminals to walk free and to defund the police.
-
Wisconsin Democrat Senate candidate Mandela Barnes wants to eliminate cash bail and release half the state’s inmates.
-
Pennsylvania Democrat Senate candidate John Fetterman has bragged about putting a record number of criminals back on the street, on at least 13 occasions expressed support for releasing one-third of Pennsylvania's prison population, and supports ending “ life without parole” for many murderers.
-
Nevada Democrat Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto voted “more than 75 times to minimize the sentences of violent criminals" while on the Nevada Board of Pardons Commissioners.
-
Georgia Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock, who was once arrested for obstructing a police investigation into a child abuse case , says he wants to “reimagine” policing and supports ending cash bail.
-
North Carolina Democrat Senate candidate Cheri Beasley has fundraised with and received endorsements from prominent anti-police groups and candidates.
-
Ohio Democrat Senate candidate Tim Ryan spent years calling the criminal justice system “racist” and the "new Jim Crow.”
- Americans are paying the price for Democrats' soft-on-crime policies.
-
Crime sprees, like surging car thefts and smash and grab robberies, are taking over cities, with more and more crimes happening in broad daylight.
-
Biden’s open border policies are responsible for the massive amounts of deadly fentanyl pouring into communities across the country.
- Republicans will always fight for safe communities, law and order, and a secure border,
- In November, Americans will hold Democrats accountable for their unacceptable and reckless policies.
|
Republicans are in a strong position heading into the midterm elections, including taking back the House and Senate majorities.
- Republicans need to pick up 1 seat in the Senate and 5 seats in the House to retake majorities.
- Voters across the country have nominated a great slate of candidates at the congressional, statewide, and local level:
- Strong statewide Senate candidates including Dr. Mehmet Oz, JD Vance, Adam Laxalt, Katie Britt, Joe O’Dea, Blake Masters, Herschel Walker, Tiffany Smiley, Don Bolduc, and Ted Budd.
- Hispanic Congressional candidates including Monica de la Cruz (TX), Michelle Garcia Holmes (NM), Mayra Flores (TX), Yesli Vega (VA), and Cassy Garcia (TX).
- Female Congressional candidates including Madison Gesiotto Gilbert (OH), Jen Kiggans (VA), April Becker (NV), Esther Joy King (IL), Mary Miller (IL), Erin Houchin (IN), and Karoline Leavitt (NH).
- Black Congressional candidates including Wesley Hunt (TX), John James (MI), Billy Prempeh (NJ), George Logan (CT), and Jennifer-Ruth Green (IN).
- APA candidates including Michelle Steel (CA), Young Kim (CA), Allan Fung (RI), and Hung Cao (VA).
- Candidates who served in our military including Morgan Luttrell (TX), Ryan Zinke (MT), Zach Nunn (IA), and Derrick Van Orden (WI).
- Republicans are focusing on issues that matter to families and voters in all communities:
- Lowering prices on everything from gas to groceries;
- Keeping our communities safe;
- Securing the southern border and stopping the flow of fentanyl into the country;
- Investing in our children's education.
-
Democrat candidates across the country will not:
- Make our communities safer;
- Lower the costs at the pump or at the grocery store;
- Secure the southern border;
- Make us energy independent again.
- Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to fall and he is a drag on Democrat candidates.
-
74% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track according to the most recent Monmouth poll.
- 53% of Americans disapprove of the job Biden is doing, and he is 10 points underwater with just 42% approving.
- Do not buy into the media/polling feedback loop. The media has to create tension, it is good for business.
- Joe Biden and Democrats have brought crisis after crisis and the American people are paying the price.
- A supply chain crisis and inflation at a 40 year high;
- High gas prices;
- An out of control border crisis;
- Lethal fentanyl pouring into our communities;
- Rising crime across the country;
- A disastrous foreign policy agenda that has America leading from behind.
- The RNC has made significant investments in the midterms and to grow our Party with minority communities.
- The RNC has over:
- 700 staffers;
- 720,000 volunteers;
-
70 million voter contacts;
- And 38 Community Centers this cycle.
- With less than a month until Election Day, we are working hard every day to elect Republican leaders who will fight for Americans and put us first.
