Dear ATBC Community,

This past year presented us with additional professional and personal challenges. Despite the difficulties faced, we managed to remain active and to continue to make meaningful contributions to tropical biology and biodiversity preservation. The Virtual ATBC2021 was a great example of resilience, allowing us to share our latest research findings and remain connected virtually. By working together, we were able to reaffirm our genuine collaborative spirit and strong commitment to tropical biology and conservation.

ATBC 2021 Virtual Conference
The ATBC 2021 Virtual meeting was a success! Around 600 participants from 60 countries shared their exciting research on tropical biology and conservation projects. Save the Date & Call for Symposia!
We are thrilled to host the 58th Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation in Cartagena (Colombia) between July, 10-14th. The meeting's theme is Conserving Tropical Biodiversity and Achieving Socio-Ecological Resilience in the Anthropocene:​ Opportunities and Challenges. This meeting is co-organized by the ATBC and Rosario University and will be held in the historic city of Cartagena in Colombia.

Please, have in mind the following important events and dates:
  • January 7th, 2022: Deadline for submission of symposium proposals. Submit your proposal here.
  • February 1st, 2022: Open call for abstracts (oral sessions & posters)
  • March 11th, 2022: Deadline for abstract submission (symposia, oral sessions, and posters)
  • April 1st, 2022: Open meeting registration
  • July 10-14, 2022: ATBC 2022

ATBC 2021 Council and President Elections
Closing date:

December 31st, 2021
The elections for President-Elect (2022) and Councilors (2022-2024) of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation will close on December 31st, 2021.

The President-Elect will serve on the Council as a voting member for 3 years as President-Elect in 2022, ATBC President in 2023, and Past-President in 2024.
Councilors serve for three calendar years, attending and voting in all ATBC Council meetings (online or in-person) during their terms (Bylaws).

Please, do not lose this opportunity to elect our leaders and help build a stronger and more diverse community. Cast your vote below.
