Proclaiming the Good News on the Mountaintops

Greetings Ministry Partner,

Rolly and his wife Ruth are two of our students who are serving in the mountains of Mindanao. They are sharing the Word of God with the people in a tiny village more than 1,200 feet above sea level. Please pray that the other 2,300 students who, like Rolly and Ruth, are serving faithfully in the cities, in the mountains, and in the islands, that they would also become more effective ministers of the Gospel.

In the month of September, our CCI team composed of Dr. David Nelson, seven CCI National Directors from Asia and India, and an Area Coordinator bound for Mexico went on a tour of the eastern United States. We visited churches in Washington DC, Upstate New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania to tell people about the Lord’s work in our respective countries.

We also attended Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship Training at the International Headquarters of Association of Baptists for World Evangelism in Pennsylvania. We will use the Good Soil Training to help local pastors in their evangelism and discipleship.

It was not all work, though. We got to visit a dairy farm, a lumber yard, and a blue stone factory. We stayed in mountaintop cabins for a few days and also experienced the hospitality of many believers who welcomed us in their homes.

We appreciate your prayers and support.

Testimony

Pastor Melvin Mendina, a pastor and church planter in Camarines Sur:

"Before I joined the CCI training, I was not the leader type. But my character changed and I now serve with compassion and I always ask God for guidance in making decisions. I learned to study carefully the word of God and to teach it diligently for people to appreciate the Good News of Jesus Christ. The bible training also helped me in teaching the word of God systematically. By God’s grace, I gained more understanding on how to correctly interpret the bible and to teach it correctly in the church that I planted.

We faced different challenges while undergoing training, like typhoons where our professor had to cancel our class many times and the severe pandemic where we had to stop the class for a few months. But I thank God for His sustaining grace that we graduated last May 2021. To God be the Glory."
